Can't wait to go back!

I can see why this park is on the Best Parks in America list for the last 2 years. The park and sites are easy to get in/out of, the sites are concrete with grassy yards and the hook ups are good with good water pressure. We stayed 1 night in a centrally located pull thru and finished our week in a waterfront, having experienced both I can say I don't think there is a "bad" site in the park. The staff were friendly and helpful, the bath and showers were clean and they have outdoor showers located at both beach entrances. We camped in a fifth wheel and can't wait to go back.

Don't let the drive in fool you.

The GPS assured us we were headed in the right direction but the industrial park we were driving thru had us a bit unsure. Once we turned into the park we entered into a beautifully landscaped RV park. The staff were very friendly and we were lead to our site by a staff member in a golf cart; who even offered to help guide us during the parking of our fifth wheel. The camp sites were concrete and level, beautifully landscaped and the hook ups were good. We had dinner in the bar/cafe and thought the food was good and our waitress was wonderful. The weather did not permit us to take advantage of the pool but it appeared to be clean and well taken care of. There is a shuttle available to go to The French Quarter but we found the time schedule too restrictive. We would absolutely camp there again.

Great place

We visited in December. The town of Nornamgee is up and coming, several cute stores. If you are in the market for windchimes go to the farm/feed store (best prices for the biggest chimes around). If you want an excellent burger be sure and stop in to Becki's Cottage and Soda Fountain. The only downside is the goat head stickers. As long as you keep you shoes on, have good floor mats and no dogs I think it's great. Also easy drive to College Station if ya want to visit Aggieland or The George Bush Library. An added plus for deer watchers, the place is full of them.

My hometown

As a local resident,we used this camp as a staging area to break in our new RV, I gotta say this park is excellent on so many levels. The only "word of warning" we have local wildlife so don't let your dogs out or off leash without supervision. A coyote almost came up and said hi to us. The views of the lake, the facilities and downtown are excellent, I would highly recommend you visit!
