Twin Lakes RV is moderate-sized park with level gravel pads & patios, with some sites adjacent to lake, which has a large under-water fountain (lighted @ nite). If I had had a longer electric cord connection, I could have headed into site, thereby providing a lovely view of lake & fountain. Abundant water fowl, including Canadian Geese. Sites adjacent to lake have no trees, allowing roof-top satellite reception; remainder of sites are shaded. About ¾ appear to be permanent or long-term residents, has 50a + water, no cable, & no sewer connections, but have dump site. Do not take credit or debit; accept cash or check. Quiet & peaceful during our stay; fishing allowed in lake.
El Mar is small park of ~12 sites, ~ 4 have view of canal. Most sites are back-in, spacious with gravel pad & large cement patio with picnic table. Several sites allow drive-in option, affording lovely view of the bay, with hook-ups on both sides of site. Has kayak/canoe launch dock. No laundry or other recreational facilities, but has all the basic necessities such as 50 amp, cable, water, sewer, wi-fi, etc. Friendly staff & fellow Rv-ers. Rates vary with season.
Naples KOA is a rather old RV park with about 2/3 permanently sited mobile homes, RV's, & manufactured homes & 1/3 spaces for traveling RV's. Blacktop interior roads with mostly gravel pads, small cement patios, and picnic tables. Some all grass sites. Has shuffle board & small kids playground. At $87/nite with tax, way overpriced, but otherwise, o.k. place to spend the night. About 30 minute drive to downtown Naples.
Lovely park, full services, many sites shaded, large spaces w gravel pads & patio, many sites separated by large shrubbery, paved within-park roads, friendly staff, small convenience store @ ranger station. Entrance to “Headwaters” section of park is about 4 miles from entrance to camping sites with different address, so if using GPS to locate, make sure have correct address. Excellent camp ground if you can snag a site. Unable to access DirecTV from our site.
Medium sized park, about 1/3 were gravel pads & patios, 2/3 w grass with some gravel. Many sites had shade. Has 50Amp, cable, & full service. Gulf coast beach is across the 4-lane road leading to park. Quite adequate park. About a block from Jeff Davis museum, which won't be re-opened until mid-May at earliest. Also plenty of casinos in area, if that's your thing. Cost: $37.50 with tax.
Stayed here 2 nights; does not seem to be many choices for RV parks in this interesting historical area. Trailer Life reviewer must have had a sense of humor when s/he gave this park an 8.5 rating. My RV pad are gravel, grass, & dirt, which was messy after it rained. Has small pond, ducks, lots of dogs, mostly long-term residents who seemed very friendly. Owner/manager lives on site and was friendly and helpful. Does have 30/50 amps, no cable and trees block roof-top satellite antennae. Adequate place for few day stop-over, but not a 5-star resort.
This is probably the most expensive park I've ever stayed in (~$90/day w Good Sam discount), but also, one of the best. About 5 blocks from middle of French Quarter (easy walk), all hard surface pads & patios, patches of grass, friendly & helpful staff, pet friendly, and has evening security.
This is quite adequate place for stopping point on the long trip across Wesr Texas. It's a former KOA franchised site, somewhat past its prime, but has basic amenities.
