Secluded and Quiet

Loved this place for a one-night stay. Lots of AT hikers in the area, so a lot of activity around the general store and AT Museum.

Too Big

This is a mega-campground. Hundreds of people, screaming kids, and barking dogs. Our site was one of the most un-level ones we've ever had.

Cozy Campground

A lot nicer than other KOA mega-campgrounds. Nice restaurant with pretty good food, and a real ice cream stand! Play area for kids and a dog park.

Good and Bad

Good that our site was right on the lake, had private access to the water, site was level and shaded, site had a fire ring w/grate and a picnic table, and the property was clean.
Bad that the site was so narrow that we couldn't lower our awning, people walked thru our site to get to the lake, and there were soooo many barking dogs!

Quiet Hours?

We only stayed one night, the staff was very helpful and friendly, and the store was clean with a large variety of product.
However, someone in a nearby camper played loud music until 3am, and no one from the CG was around to enforce the quiet time rule.

Spacious, Clean, Quiet

We only stayed one night, but it was easy to do after-hours check-in, it was easy to find our site, and our site was paved, level, and quiet!
This place is huge, and it looks like there's lots to do!

Loud and Louder

This CG was really loud. They play loud music over the speakers all day at the pool and until 11pm at the rec area that you can hear all across the CG.
Trash dumpsters were overflowing, so trash bags were all over the ground.
The sites are closer to the highway than to the bay, so there is a lot of traffic noise, too.
Nice shaded sites, but too loud for me!

One Night Stay

Convenient location, but trucks on the nearby interstate were loud all night. Ask for a spot away from the freeway!

Beautiful Lake George

Campground is within walking distance of the lake, the beach, and all the shops and restaurants. Lots of shade at this CG, and we had a quiet night's sleep until the hard rain started at 5am! Roadways are narrow, and some spots are tight or not level, but all in all, a nice place to stay.
