Rough campground right now--New owners are trying to improve

Price reflects Passport America membership. Campground was very easy to find. The campground is under new ownership. The owners have some great plans for the future of this campground. This is a standard “parking lot” style campground. They currently only have a few sites that manage big rigs, but they are continuing to add larger sites. They offer 30 & 50 amp. The sites are very close together. Sites are all very level. Campground backs up to the interstate, we could hear the traffic—but it was not awful. Verizon coverage is very weak. They offer WiFi, but it is weak. It was very easy to get DirecTV satellite. They have built a nice playground and also added a dog park.

It is a reasonable overnight stop for a break or to visit Petrified National Park and area attractions. The owners were very interested in helping us have a nice time while we were in the area. If the new owners continue improving, it could be a good campground.

Great overnight park

My review rating is based on being used for an overnight spot to stop.

Price reflects Passport America rate. Campground was very easy to find. Easy on and off I-95. We just stayed as we were passing through. It is perfect for that kind of stop. There was a lot of road noise, but worked for our one night. We stayed in the area with water and electric only. It was grassy area with campsites throughout. There was plenty of room. Campground easily handle big rigs. There was plenty of room in our site for the truck, 5th wheel and jeep. Sites are all very level. Good Verizon coverage.
It was very easy to get DirecTV satellite. We would definitely stop here again.

Good Rates, Nice staff... park is basically RV Parking lot

Price reflects Passport America price. We were here for almost 2 weeks—they honored the Passport rate the entire time we were at the campground. My rating is based on this campground meeting our needs. If you want amenities, this will not be your campground. Campground was very easy to find, take exit 81 as the online directions say. The staff in this campground –were very nice. They gave us directions to call when we pulled into the campground. She immediately met us and escorted us to our site. There are a lot of permanent/long term campers here. Most of them are clean; although they should really try to enforce keeping sites clean. Some looked trashy. Campground is primarily gravel, although there are grass areas throughout—but no grass campsites. Campsites are about 45’ square—plenty of room. Big Rigs fit easily in this campground. There was plenty of room in our site for the truck, 5th wheel and jeep. Sites are all very level. There is a very nice laundry room, 8 washers and 8 dryers. Weak Verizon coverage but I was able to use phone and use internet, we had 1 bar much of the time. It was very easy to get DirecTV satellite. We would definitely stay here again.

It is a good place to park, but not a “destination” campground. This is a basic campground—there are no amenities; but it was a nice quiet park.

Nice pools, trees throughout

Our experience with this resort was positive. Our dates/needs changed several times over a couple of months--the staff here worked with us at every turn. They were SO helpful and polite. Every interaction we had with staff before and during was excellent!

Every site seemed to have a picnic table. Our site was a good size. Some sites were smaller. We prefer limited trees, so ours was great. The sites with trees would have been much more challenging to get into. We easily got Verizon signal and DirecTV. We were up near the front gate, which would be our preferred location at this campground. Nice little store. Great pool area.

There are some "odd" rules at this campground. In an effort to curb the night time noise they essentially have a curfew. If you are away from your campsite after 11pm, you cannot drive your golf cart home--you must walk. If you come into the campground after 11pm, you can only come in if you have been at work or park your car by the front gate. The plus... the only noise after 11pm was campground patrol driving through the campground.

Some of the roads to the campground are winding and narrow... but we were able to manage. Campground definitely handles big rigs.

Country camping--between 2 fields

Price reflects Passport and C2C. Follow GPS exactly to get to this campground. Very quiet rural setting. There is a large sign with a phone number to call for check in. Within a few minutes, the managing couple came to check us in. They were very anxious to make sure our stay was positive and want to help however they can. Sites are all grass. Sites are average to small—however our 5th wheel, truck and jeep easily fit on our site. Each site has a picnic table. There are quite a few more permanent campers toward the back of the campground. The Passport and Coast to Coast campers are in a row of sites just inside the campground. Our site backed up to a large corn field and across the road is a soybean field—it is a fun alternative view to most other campgrounds. Easily handle big rigs because of the open spaces. Sites are electric and water only. There is a dump station available. There are trees throughout campsites. Trees offer shade, but can make getting satellite a challenge. Interior roads have pot holes that cannot be avoided. Very good Verizon cell and data coverage. We were able to set up our coach to allow us to get DirecTV. We have stayed here before while visiting the Shipshewana area. It is a nice place to stay while we are in the area.

Nice park, a variety of campsite options

Price reflects C2C membership. There is a security station at the entry of the campground, it had staff in it at least half the time we were there. The staff were all younger and not “typical” campground staff—which made their efficiency and respectfulness so refreshing. There are a variety of different campsite layouts. I think part of the mixed reviews come from where the individual campers were parked. If we had been in the area with all the trees, we would probably not have enjoyed this campground. We asked for a site without trees. They directed us where to look in the campground and made some site suggestions. We were backed up to a wooded area, but our site had no trees. There are a variety of site sizes throughout the campground. There was plenty of room in our site for the truck, 5th wheel and jeep. This campground easily handles big rigs. There are Gravel and Asphalt roads through the campground. Sites have grass and some gravel. Although our site was very level, we saw some other sites that were on an incline (these all had smaller campers on them). Each site had a picnic table. Our area was electric/water only. There is a nice Pool area. There is a very nice laundry room. Very good Verizon coverage. Our site was very easy to get DirecTV satellite. In reading some of the reviews we were hesitant to stay at this campground. Our experience was so positive, we will definitely stay here again.

Nice treat in the desert

Price reflects C2C membership. Campground was very easy to find. The hospitality of this campground is unlike any we have experienced. A short time after checking in, the campground host came to our RV to welcome us personally and to give us a small packet of information for the area. He gave us information about some of the best attractions. There are daily activities—meals and games. This is a standard “parking lot” style campground. However, they can easily handle big rigs. Sites are close together, but they make every effort to make sure RV doors and windows are not parallel. We were able to park the 5th wheel and truck in our site—not enough room for the jeep. Each site has a small concrete patio and picnic table. Some sites have trees—some were large enough to offer some shade. Campground and the sites are all level. The sites and roads are gravel—but very well maintained. We had 50amp without any additional cost.

The pool is large and heated. There are plenty of tables and chairs to sit and enjoy the pool. The hot tub is inside, just off the pool. It is obvious that they work on improvements at this resort. There was evidence of recent and ongoing improvements. Laundry room was clean, 3 washers and 3 dryers. There was a very nice work out area with very good quality equipment.

There were nicely landscaped areas throughout the resort. They had a nice cactus garden with a koi pond/stream.

Good Verizon coverage. Easy to get DirecTV satellite. Wi-Fi was available—but slow.

Our site was right next to the maintenance building, so we were woke up each day with workers and their equipment noise. Our only real issues were the size of the sites and the worker noise. We look forward to returning.

Easy to get to, Nice pool area and laundry room--Great 4-Wheeling close

Stayed using Coast to Coast membership. Campground was very easy to find.
There are regular meals that are provided by the campground; however we were not given a list of these meals when we checked in, so we were not able to enjoy any of these. (We happened to see the notices on a bulletin board near the Laundry room.)
This is a standard “parking lot” style campground. However, there is room to manage big rigs.
Sites are average. There was enough room in the site for the truck, 5th wheel and jeep; but there was not an additional inch to spare.
This campground is entirely gravel--gravel roads and gravel sites. Sites are all very level.
30 amps service, however the power was not stable. We had power interrupts several times (luckily we use a surge protector).
Nice pool and hot tub area. Pool is heated. There is a nice clubhouse and a small game room.
We loved the fruit trees; and they set out totes of ripe grapefruit and oranges for people to take and enjoy.
Very nice laundry room. Laundry was one of the least expensive we have seen in a couple years.
Lots of Jeep and ATV roads and mountain biking trails that can be accessed directly from campground.
Good Verizon coverage. Easy to get DirecTV satellite.
We would stay here again to enjoy the 4-wheeling and pool area.

Love the Pool area

Stayed using Coast to Coast membership. Campground was very easy to find.
This is a standard “parking lot” style campground. However, they easily handle big rigs. Sites are close together, but long. There was plenty of room in the site for the truck, 5th wheel and jeep. Gravel, well maintained, roads through the campground. Sites are all very level. Each site had a concrete patio and picnic table. Only 30 amps available.
Two very nice heated pools and hot tubs. One pool had a partial roof for shade. Very nice clubhouse, miniature golf and a great restaurant/bar in the pool area. Enjoyed “Happy Hour” specials at the bar—next to the pool.
Washers and dryers were sitting outside. We didn’t use them because it was windy and didn’t want to stand out in the heat and wind to do laundry. Also, I am not convinced that you would keep the dust out of the machines (and then your clothes).
They say they have security. The security phone number is given when you check in. However, we had a couple of issues that didn’t seem to get addressed. People around us were having loud parties and we were not able to find security to get taken care of. Also, there was a group of scam artists working through the campground trying to get campers to gamble $100 at a time. We called security phone number; we were told the person we spoke with would contact the security team and manager. An hour later we talked to a security person who said he had not been notified of any issue.
Campground is directly on the river, however Coast to Coast sites are away from river. The beach on the river is available for everyone to enjoy—and it was beautiful!
Good Verizon coverage. Easy to get DirecTV satellite.
I'm giving a higher rating because the amenities really are very nice and it is special to be able to easily take a walk on the beach.

Mixed review.. Love view, hate smell and size

Stayed using Coast to Coast membership.
Campground was very easy to find. The staff in this campground was very nice, we needed to extend our stay and they were very accommodating. This is a standard “parking lot” style campground. However, they easily handle big rigs. Sites are VERY close together. There was enough of room in the site for the truck, 5th wheel and jeep—but nothing more. Asphalt roads through the campground. Each camp site is gravel. Sites are all very level. Each site had a concrete patio.
Pool was very cold. Even in very warm weather it was too cold to use pool. Hot tub was warm (not hot). Both had leaves and bugs—so we would not have used them even if the temperature had been better.
Our view was amazing. Campsite was up on a ridge, overlooking Laughlin and the Colorado River. However, there were tall sewer vent pipes throughout the campground. The site view was beautiful, but the smell was awful.
Good Verizon coverage. Easy to get DirecTV satellite.
