Rustic Camping, Quiet and beautiful

No TV, No bathhouse, No electricity, No bus RV's -- but great rustic camping in a quiet, woodsy environment. Our pop-up camper loved the park. There are two hand pumps for water and two latrine toilets. It is perfect for camp fires, reading, meditation, and staying cool. We stayed three days while we biked along the Greenbriar River Trail. Fabulous. Oh, I should say that we used the showers at the ranger station. It used coins in a slide to turn the water on (like a car wash). You got ten minutes or so of hot water for a buck. Quite a bargain compared to a cold shower by the camper.

Nice, friendly, a little pricey

We stayed here for three days to spend the weekend with our grandsons. They had a good time but didn't take advantage of the several activities that are available and cost some extra cash. They mostly enjoyed the creek flowing right behind our campsite. That was great and the sound of the babbling brook made for some intoxicating times and great background for sleeping. The cost was $70 per night / $210 total. Some of this was the extra adult and two kids.

Restrooms were clean and relatively newish. Although one toilet was leaking causing the mens room to be wet in spots. Showers worked well but they were the push to get water type. You had to keep pushing to shower. And there was no temperature adjustment. Too hot for me, but probably just right for my wife.
