Nice facility, lousy site

We enjoyed our stay, as there were lots of activities for my 13 yr old grand son. And most of the staff was pleasant and helpful.

However, there were two negatives which need to be addressed:

The site (173) was the least level site I've ever encountered! I had 3 leveling blocks under each of the curb side wheels, and it really needed a fourth. I had to move gravel around to get a relatively level spot for the landing gear and rear stabilizer pads. Setting up alone, this took a bit of time.

However, the worst was yet to come. The sewer drain pipe was on the high side, and it took jury-rigging.the sewer hose to get some flow into the drain utilizing not only the sewer line support, but also 2X4 spacers to get close to level and have some flow to the sewer. I guess Yogi doesn't understand that water won't flow uphill!

I should have requested a change of site, but my family had arrived from CT & MA, and spending time with them, rather than hook up, disconnect the water, electric & sewer and move to another site and set up again was not desirable.

Great family campground

Nelson's is a great place to camp with kids! My grandson (11) camped with me for the first time, and he was never bored. The mini-golf, shuffleboard, swimming pool, playground and other amenities, plus some activities like swim pool basketball and "capture the flag" kept him having fun. Although he was with me during the week, there were lots of kids about his age, so he had no trouble making some new friends. On the weekend, the campground has even more kids. I was here for a week.
