Let me start of by saying the good things about this park. The spaces are big and wide and they are all the same. There is a section for the short terms and an area for the long terms. I get so tired of having to renegotiate a spot when ever I arrive and they want to put me in a very poor spot. Not mentioning and names, but their initials are KOA....
The not so good is it is all gravel and where there is grass there is stickers.
I have always liked this place. Very peaceful and very friendly people. Most everyone had dogs but they are strict on the policy. We were right on the peaceful flowing Arkansas River.
This is a KOA. The folks are very friendly and most (not all) sites are very nice. I have yet to figure out why they always put you in the worst spot then gladly move you to a nicer spot once you complain??? You would think you start with the nicer spots then move down to the bad ones!!!
Ok, so we are in the middle of July and there is a "Turn Around". A oil company has hired 3500 workers for this project. Went to the KOA and all they had was elec and water, no full hookup. Then we went to Western Hills campground and they were full. All three campgrounds are gravel. Here the showers are great and the people very friendly. The KOA is next to an apartment complex so when we went in, I turned around and went to the other two. Time to make lemonade!!!
Wonderful place. We will return. Sites are a little close but everyone is friendly. Beautiful mornings next to national forest. Casino is just down the road. We stayed longer than planned.
