Clean restrooms. Well laid out. Slight lack of privacy
If the public restrooms and facilities are important to you then this is an ideal park.
First the basics:
Greeting: 5/5 park rangers had us park up, come in and explained where the site was, gate code and map.
Camp site: easy to get to. Slightly tight in some places with lots of trees. But we only hit one low hanging light branch... And it was signposted. Lol.
We stayed at site52. All sites are surrounded by a small fence. Camp fire and small clothes line (Eagle Scout project). Easy to back into - I didn't see any pull through sites. 3/5 just because the sites are close together. (About 10ft to next site. But easily visible what your neighbors are doing)
Restrooms and facilities were amazing. Cleanest I've ever seen. Family shower room. Laundry. Vending machine. Really really nice.
We will definitely return. It's only 30 mins from our house and is well worth the fee.
Lots to do at the fort $2 entry.
Wheelchair accessible and if you need a beach wheelchair there are some available with notice.
Camp sites 1-29 are on Atlantic coast. 30-62 are on the river side. Quite a distance between sites so if you're coming as a group make sure you specify when booking.
