Should be called Sardine City Campground

Park was built in the 70's with only 4-5 spots for rigs over 35'. Had a tough time maneuvering our 34' fifth wheel once in the park. They're trying to utilize every inch of prime real estate they have so rigs are packed in like sardines. A lot of permanent run down rigs are in the park.

A bit over priced but they're able to charge what they want because of supply and demand in the area. Water, sewer and electric all good. No trees anywhere to be found for shade. We were parked on the west side of 17 and never were able to hook into their wifi. Had to go into their office/store and sit for a bit in order to get a good connection. Park is run by an elderly couple so I don't think Internet is a huge concern for that generation.

No laundry facilities. Didn't use their showers or bathrooms so can't comment on those. All office staff were very friendly.

Giving this campground 3 stars due to the fact they have private access to the beach which is a huge plus and worth the extra star. Was easy to enjoy our time at the park.

Hard to say if we'd stay there again due to the tightness of the spots. Would check out other parks before coming back to this one but I'm thinking they're all going to be tight due to the popularity of the area and location to the beaches.

Well maintained park

A ways from town but well worth it. One of the quietest park we've ever been in.
Easy to maneuver our 34' fifth wheel into our "super" spot. All utilities good including wifi. We would definitely stay here again if ever in the area. Used our Passport America discount.

Quiet Park

A ways from anything which makes for a quiet park. Lots of activities for adults and kids. Nice beach area. Office staff wasn't too bright when it came to issuing our Passport America discount but all worked out in the end.

Spots are long but narrow. Electric, water and sewer were all good. We would definitely stay in this park again if ever in the area.

Ok for the night

Park seems run down but ok for a nights stay. The spots are extremely narrow. They're nice and long for our 34' 5th wheel and long bed truck but couldn't extend awning all the way as it encroached on neighboring real estate and would be taken out by someone pulling into the adjoining site.

Sewer and electric good. Wifi is the best we've seen since hitting the road in May. There are a lot of full time rigs. Staff was pleasant although the lady said they were completely booked when I called however there were spots available when we happened to pull in to check ourselves.

Money needs to be spent to make sites better. There's gravel on sites but needs more since it's virtually nonexistent and extremely muddy when it rains.

A lot of highway noise but would probably stay again only due to the fact there's nothing else available in the Christiansburg area.

Ok park for the money

Stayed 4 nights. Never did get the cable to work. Staff said they checked the connection and it was working. We followed their directions to the 't'. Not rocket science and we have never had problems in the past. Park has a lot of road noise and spots are tight for large rigs. The turn into park comes up fast and is on a blind curve so be careful when entering park. We've stayed at Wilsons in the past and would stay at this park again over the other. Wifi worked well as did 30 amp, water and sewer. We're surprised Asheville doesn't have anything better.

Good access for large rigs to park

Easy access to campground from freeway. Staff are all friendly and very accommodating. In fact, at our request we were moved to a new site after the office parked another rig not more than 5 ft next to us (after all slides were out). The park was not full so there was no need to park rigs one on top of each other.

The laundry, office and grounds were clean. WiFi however, is not as good as dial-up so be prepared. The cable for the tv didn't work well at our first location but was great at second location in park.

There's a trail to the lake which is a nice walk but be prepared for the trash you'll find along the way. Pride of one's state is not a strong point.

Considering all things, we would definitely stay here again. Did I mention how great the staff are???

High Dollar

Campground was clean and surroundings quiet even though the facilities are close to the freeway. We asked to be in the back though so was really quiet.

Water pressure good, however, the electric is questionable. Unlike other parks we've been in, we had to turn off ac when we wanted to use the microwave or blow dryer.

Wifi slow. Laundry facilities are good. Didn't hook up to cable so can't comment on that portion.

Girls in the office were a little stand offish, however, the maintenance staff are friendly and helpful as I learned after locking myself out of our 5th wheel.

A little pricey but close to Opry Mills Mall and Opryland Hotel which charges $24 plus tax for parking just to look inside the hotel.

All in all, would most likely stay there again cause we loved the Rocky Road ice cream in their ice cream shop.

Nice & Clean

Easy in and easy out. Park is clean. Didn't use the laundry or shower facilities so can't comment on those. Close to freeway so might get noisy. Our air conditioner ran constantly so drowned out any freeway noise there might have been.

We asked for a shady spot which is hard to achieve since all the trees are small and still growing but did notice the row in the rear of the park gets shaded first as the sun sets in the evenings. We were told all those spots were reserved, however, one spot in particular was never occupied the entire time we were there.

WiFi worked well, no problems there. Cable tv was extremely fuzzy though and difficult to watch. Water pressure good along with electricity. Never had to turn off the ac to run the microwave or blow dryer.

Whatever you do, don't park on the grass, not even for a second! They'll be all over you like stink on poo. All in all I would say it's a good park. We would most likely stay there again but would definitely request the back row due to shade issues.
