Newly renovated campground

All roads are paved, all campsites are level with gravel base. All utilities have been upgraded in 2016, all sites have 50 amp service, picnic table, fire ring, raised barbecue grill. All campsites are WIDE and well separated from neighbor sites. Nearly 15 miles of hiking trails, and campground entry includes use of boat launch located at the park's Main Entry. The main park entry has shops, restaurants, museum displaying history of the park and film productions that took place here. (Tarzan movies, Creature from the Black Lagoon, etc.)

There are glass bottom boat rides, huge pavilion for cultural events, and beautiful walking paths all through the main park, included with your camping entry.

Campground itself also has museum buildings open only on Weekends to the public, as they are reserved for classrooms by local school district.

An absolute MUST is to kayak the Silver River. No swimming allowed in the river due to gators, but you will see plenty of monkeys! There is a "take out" about 5 miles from the park, so coordinate with other kayakers to leave a car there.

The water park was closed for winter during our stay, but there was a rumor they may not reopen it unless they find another operator.

This park is not easy to get a campsite in any longer.... summer or winter..... so plan ahead! They do keep some sites open for walk ins
