Beautiful Park

While we were staying in Arizona, we told friends that we were heading towards Southern California and then north towards home and Vancouver, Canada. They said that we HAD to stop at Chula Vista Resort on our way. So glad we took their advise. After exiting the I-5 almost at the Mexican border, you exit and right on the water at the south end of SanDiego Bay is a gorgeous park very close to all that SanDiego has to offer. Too numerous to mention. This will be a regular visiting place for us. You can't find much better.

Needles Park

Not a bad park. Nice small pool and hot tub. Big grassy area by the river.
No cable or WiFi in Needles, but that's OK for a bit.
There is a golf coarse next door, so bring your clubs.

Great Park

This is a very nice park when stopping in Bakersfield. Buck Owens Crystal Palace is around the corner just off of highway99.
Because this park is relatively new, all of the facilities are great. We biked on the Kern River bike trail about 18 miles, very nice. Friendly staff, and very clean. Ask for a spot farther back from the highway for more peaceful night.
