Great Views and Great Camping!

This is a great campground even with the removal of 99% of the trees due to recent beetle kill. (Note: The Google Earth satellite view is deceiving - the tree coverage shown is non-existent). That noted, the lake views were spectacular and access to bathrooms and showers is fairly easy. If RV'ing, the sites with the best views (270 degrees) are 16,18,20, 21,22,23 and 30 although sites 22 and 23 are shorter and more suited for popups. All the RV sites are back-in only and most are too narrow to park a vehicle alongside, therefore you're forced to park perpendicular to the front of your trailer, just off the road. This is a bit tight for larger towing vehicles but manageable.

Note that ALL sites with electricity that we saw have one 50A, one 30A and two 15A duplex plugs and ALL have potable water spigots. The dump station is easily accessible when departing and has an adjacent non-potable spigot (no hose) for cleaning tanks at the dump site. Lots of dumpsters are scattered around the campground.

Bring your kites! The advantage to the lack of trees is an wide open area for kite flying. Note that the wind picks-up around 10AM and is steady until 3-4PM (in June). Also, the boat launch is easily accessible and accommodating.

The park staff were very friendly and seemed to be always present when needed.

Overall it was a great experience! Yes, the trees were missed, but the lake views made up for it! Recommended.
