Military RV

Strong wifi with fast connection, easy to enter/exit, quiet park as you'd expect from military RVers, and cable TV available. Clean laundry was inexpensive, bathrooms/showers clean too. Very close to MWR locations on base. Base taxi is free for more distant on-base spots during business hours. Exchange and commissary are within walking distance. If you need a rental car, you can rent Hertz right on base near the south gate, which is the one for RVs to enter/exit. For those that like the safety of a military location, this is a terrific spot. The only thing that would improve this park is trees-- not a lick of shade anywwhere.

At least it has trees

We arrived at noon and saw a massive park with one RV. Immediately, we wondered if something was wrong. No, but now we understand why KOAs charge twice what they should--they have to fleece the few to generate revenue to pay the bills. RVs in Wendover have lots of places to stop, but KOA is the only one with trees to offer any shade. There is wifi but the signal barely reaches beyond 150 feet. The KOA standard recreation is stuck in the 50s, but it gave our kids something to explore. This KOA has tiered pricing to increase the cost if you add full hookups, cable, kids, pets, etc! I was delighted to discover a military discount! Bathrooms were clean and so was the shoppette inside. If you want to stay in Wendover, but not at a casino in a sterile parking lot without hookups (except for the Nugget), this is the only normal RV park in town.

I paid WHAT for this?

Easy to find and enter, this is a Spartan camp. The trees in the area only seem to be those which grow through the hitches of dilapidated trailers that appear to be very long-term visitors. NO amenities within the fences of the "park" were available. Walking distance to truck stop if you want C-store food and where you pay your nightly fee. Advertised by our iPad app as having internet, but there was no signal anywhere. I'd rate this spot as a crud-hole, and urge drivers to push on to some of the attractive RV parks adjacent to I-80 down the road.
