Decided to camp at spring brook after being there a few years ago and had a good time. Well when we arrived this time there was no one around...office closed. Not sure what to do, we drove around the campground and found that the place has gone wayyyyyy down hill. Grass was not mowed, at least a foot high in some spots, debris and trash everywhere. The pool area is overgrown with weeds all around it and as for the gameroom, what a joke!! It has a few games and only 3 of them worked. Seeing there was no one around, we picked the most decent spot we could find and pitched the tent...not much of a choice since all the other campgrounds were full in the area. We never saw anyone from the office until friday evening....even trying to call the number it went right to the answering machine. Well I asked the guy that owns the place what was going on with the mess and his exscuse was it flooded 3 weeks before. I said ok well then why didnt you call and let us know so we could go somewhere else....he just gave me a dumb look. Then he decided to change his story up and tell me that they didnt get cleaned up from last years flood, again why does it say on your website "were coming back better than ever for the 2012 season??" He said "well were a family owned campground so we cant get it all done quick." How about at least mow the grass and pick up the trash??? His response "sorry your not happy" and walked away. An hour later his wife came over and told me to come to the office and pay the balance we owed for the next 2 days, no i'm not happy with this trash hole, I think you should refund my first 2 days here. Miss thing decided she should start yelling and screaming and telling us if we didnt pay she would call the cops and give us an hour to get out. What she didnt realize is we had already called and found another campground that had an open site. These people do NOT know how to maintain a campground nor do they care. By the way we were the ONLY campers there besides the few seasonals they have....wonder why??!!! Unless you want to sit in a pile of trash and weeds and oh yeah I forgot about the electric boxes dangling off the poles.....STAY AWAY!!! Its a nightmare!!!
