This is a well kept, small CG. Most sites are shaded. We enjoyed walking the path over to the museum. The manager was very nice and allowed us to stay plugged in until we got back from museum. We had our dog in RV and temperatures were around 100 degrees. The price was also very reasonable. We also enjoyed watching the space campers launch their rockets in the open field next to CG. We'd certainly stay here again if ever in the area.
This is a very nice Ga SP. There is a lodge with a nice restaurant. The CG was renovated a few years ago with most sites having their own "porch.". Hiking is very abundant (this is the official staring point of the Appalachian Trail). Beautiful surroundings and in its glory in the fall. The drive up the mountain is very steep. Be prepared. Coming down is a little scarier than going up, but we made it in our 35 ft MH.
I like this Ga SP. It caters to boaters and fisherman. The CG is right on lake but lake front sites are tight and mostly for smaller RVs or tents. They have cable which makes it extra nice. We had a great time just siting by lake and enjoying the view.
We have stayed here a few times and love all Ga SPs. It is picturesque and we enjoy the area attractions. The Fantasy of Lights at Christmas is awesome. Also The Lillie White House and Warm Springs are a must for history buffs like me. Nice golf courses in the area. My biggest complaint is no cable and almost no tv via antenna.
Nice Ga SP. we enjoyed our stay here. As with many of Ga SP's the campground is not on the lake. There are some very nice waterfalls close by (driving distance 15 minutes). North Ga is gorgeous in the fall.
Nice Ga SP. Close to Chatanooga and all it offers (aquarium, Ruby Falls, ...) there are great walking trails from easy to strenuous. If you are able to hike down in the canyon there are two gorgeous waterfalls. Walking back up is killer!!! Nature lovers paradise!
We have stayed here twice and it's a nice, clean CG. It recently has been taken over by the county. We were very disappointed when we got there the second time because previously they offered cable but it was not available. I'm not sure if they plan to offer in future. We were able to pick up a few channels via antenna. The CG is not on lake but a short walk We enjoyed watching the fireflies at dusk.
We love this Georgia SP. It is at the top of a mountain and the temperature is usually at least 10 degrees lower than Mountain City. It has great cable ( a must for me)! There is a waterfall that you can walk to ( a short moderate walk-my 70 year old mother able to venture there). On Saturday night they had a potluck dinner and had a bluegrass jam. They only offer a couple of sites for big rigs and the trip up the mountain is very curvy and steep. Be careful but enjoy!
This is probably our most favorite Georgia SP. it has a nice lake-although the CG is not located on it. It has great cable tv ( a must for me during football season). There are about 10 sites with sewer but these are usually taken by the regulars. There is a nice golf course also for the golfers. The lodge has a restaurant with a seafood buffet on Friday nights and prime rib on Saturday night. It's also open for breakfast and lunch and you can order off the menu. The lodge is within walking distance from the CG. Love this park!
The CG at General Coffee is isolated away from the main section of the SP. There are a few farm animals and an old log cabin on the grounds for guests to tour. Another typical Georgia SP with nice wooded sites but not much else around.
