nice place

Site was level, long enough for RV and tow vehicle, and well spaced from other sites. Restrooms were clean, showers large. We were given a nice site next to restroom for our multi-night stay. Dog run was of sufficient size. Staff very friendly and helpful. Close to interstate. Since it was so warm and humid during our stay, we never heard the interstate noise because our windows were closed and AC going.

nice place

Nice location on the barrier island. Trolley stop directly in front of campground. Level sites. Reason for 4 stars: only 3 laundry machines upstairs; 3 working showers for entire park, also upstairs, for the 3 nights we stayed. Most guests are staying multiple nights and a park this size should have more facilities. Dog run was not used by us or any other campers - needs serious help. Since most sites are pull-in, a place to reattach tow vehicle would be nice. We had to leave the park to attach our tow car since others were also trying to leave.

narrow road to campground

The minor roads to the campground are narrow but they have great signs directing you. Site was very level! Site was long enough to leave car attached for the one night. Laundry was $2 per wash and $2 per dry - thankfully we only needed to do one load. Restrooms were clean but the shower stall didn't have a place/hook to put your belongings. There was only one curtain between you and the rest of the restroom. Our belongings got wet being on the floor of the shower area. Some of the drainage ditches are deep and narrow while the interior roads are narrow. Several trees also hit the roof as we went to our site and leaving. Staff friendly. Perfect place for a stop along the way. Did not try the wifi. Permanent residents were noisy about 7 am - guess getting ready to leave for work.

Resort Fee?? Really?? For This??

Pros:
-close to Harpers Ferry National Park.
-roads leading to park easy to navigate.
-clean restrooms.
-they give you free pancakes in the morning. Since we are gluten free, this wasn't worth it.

Cons:
-$10 resort fee NOT INCLUDED in published rate or even mentioned.
-no answer from staff about resort fee. This is not a "resort" facility.
-This place charges for a pet - the first place this entire summer to do so.
-internal roadways are too narrow. We saw a trailer trying to get to their site and they literally couldn't make one of the turns.
-they give you a coupon book for discounts at their own facility. Why not just lower the price??
-one coupon was for fudge - buy a pound, get 1/2 pound free. Since we were visiting daughter the next day for a week, we figured we would get some fudge to have for dessert several nights while we saw her. Went to the "coffee shop" to purchase some. All they had was a 1/4 pound of raspberry fudge. When will it be available? "Whenever the person who makes it brings it in."
-sites are DIRT! Most places that charge more than $50 per night have grass, cement, level sites, etc.
-Did I Mention A $10 Resort Fee?? Your KOA discount doesn't apply to this.

needs help!

1. Location is near a river/creek and very peaceful walking along it.
2. Staff was courteous.

now the reasons for only 2 stars.
3. showers never had warm water - 2 of us showering at various times of the day for 2 nights.
4. showers were the worst we have ever had. They look like someone said "let's add a shower here" and jerryrigged it to add it in both male and female showers.
5. Mens showers were outside and in a different room than the toilets.
6. Sites are real close to each other
7. maintanence needs to be done on the grounds. Sites are tired and weedy.
8. It's not really as close to Antietam NP as they would like you to believe.
9. We had a pull-thru site but to get out of the site with our tow car, you had to back down the gravel lane to exit area. Pull-thru obviously designed for trailers, not motorhomes.
10. Electricity box too far back on site. It also kept blowing the circuit breaker when we used any electrical appliance.

Surprising campground

This is a surprising KOA. First, you check-in at the Days Inn hotel desk. The exit from the parking lot is at a curved portion of a hilly road - so beware! Site was not level. We used all our leveling blocks and were still unlevel. Campground was well maintained. All sites have concrete patio. No cable and (surprisingly) decent internet connection and speed. When staying, you have access to the pool, fitness, etc at the hotel up the hill. We stayed during a massive thunderstorm (lasted about 12 hrs) and park drained well. No separate dog run but plenty of space for walking/hiking. Laundry was $2 per wash and $2 per drying cycle. Only 2 washers and dryer available during our stay. Very quiet park - no highway noise heard and other campers were quiet as well. Walmart Supercenter and Pilot Travel Center at same exit on other side of interstate.

Clean!

Except for the front 5 sites (I think they are for one-night travelers), plenty of shade. Site was level. Our site had very little space between sites. No cable hookup and wifi is SLOW! Nice restroom/showers at office facility. Dog run was large and double gated. Pool was at a refreshing temperature.

What happened?? New owners or management??

We have stayed here many times before. They have recently increased the nightly rate. ($12 more for pull-thru vs back-in) There have been improvements made to the office but our site was as far away from the office/restrooms as possible even when asking for close to office or bath house. Many campers were in this far-away area, I assume since the rate is less. Park was not near capacity. Site was fairly level. Other than the entry grass area, sites were weeds. Very disappointed with this visit. Close to friends we were visiting so will probably stay here again.

nice people here

Minimal leveling required at site. Utility setup really close to neighbor making your own site smaller/disrupted by utilities. Nice group camping area. Nice dog runs. Low water pressure from shower heads. Our site is for a motorhome towing car. To leave our site in toad, you have to back up passed 4 sites due to layout of sites.

ok for one night

Minimal leveling required. Site had shade, but ours had no grass. Receptionist was rude - guess showing up at noon interrupted her day. We were able to easily visit Eisenhower site in the afternoon. Shower head was old and painful. It feels like this place could use some love. Pilot Travel Center at same exit.
