Beautiful, but bring earplugs!

This is a lovely campground and at $15 a day an excellent value. I had read information that talked about watching the Union Pacific trains from they campground as the traversed the canyon.

What they don't tell you is that the campground is IN the canyon, too. Which means that about every few hours a train rumbles through--horns blowing and brakes squealing. This was cute until it happened every two hours during the night. Needless to say it was a challenge to sleep. We didn't realize the trains were so close, and in hindsight it might have been quieter if we picked a site further away from the river, but it's a lovely place to stay as long as you can work with the noise.
