Gravel, gravel everywhere
We stayed here because we wanted to be in the town of Escalante. In the future, we would opt for the state park just up the road.
The road is gravel, the sites are gravel, the space between the sites is gravel. There are cottonwoods scattered throughout the campground which provide some shade, but not all that much.
You need a key for the bathrooms. The showers are tiled (good) but there is no place to sit in the shower (bad) or in the bathroom (even worse). Had to go outside to the laundry room to put on my socks. I used the handicapped shower and the water was hot and abundant. However, my friend used the other shower and said that the water pressure was very low. My husband said that the first shower he tried to use had a handle that wouldn't turn.
The campground is for sale, so be sure to call before you come.
