Beautiful Park
This was our first stay here, we booked the park through Coast to Coast. They also accept Passport America and give a Good Sam's discount. The roads were all paved and in good shape. There are cabins to rent if you don't own an RV. You can rent canoes or kayaks to float the river. We were very fortunate in that we were put in a site that backed up to the river at the end of a long row, so only had one neighbor. There are a lot of full time/seasonal campers throughout the park. The sites are gravel and fairly narrow, but my husband backed our 42 foot 5th wheel in with no trouble. We had full hook ups, with 30 amp electricity (which we requested) to avoid the extra $5 a night for 50 amp.
The park offers WiFi which I guess is accessible throughout most of the park, but one of the men there said we couldn't get it where we were. I used my own. I had phone service too, no problem (AT&T)
There is also a cafe open Wednesday through Sunday serving 3 meals if you want to buy them. They have a dedicated building for a workout center but I didn't go into it. Also there is mini-golf if you like to play that. There IS a railroad but we have been here 8 hours and I haven't heard a train yet.
Ok for overnight stopover
Passport America rate.
Guard at entrance/exit.
Reasonable bathrooms with hot water. Good electric. No water at site (winter). Transient sites are pull through, but on a hillside and way out of level. One set of Lego blocks is not enough!
Very few people and no amenities at this time of year.
I will overnight here again if in the area.
Sites are "dumpy"
Wasn't my idea of a "resort"! Overall facilities get 3 stars, sites get 1 star. Place needs some TLC! Also there are many seasonal cpers that look like escapees from the junk yard. They need to clean them out! Plusses?? I paid $10/night (Coast to Coast) and good water pressure. Also caught 2 good bass from the pond. I would not return especially at $42.00 rate.
