Old and muddy
It rained the day before we got here and very few spots were useable because most had standing water. There is no sand or beach at all. The short pier is okay. Don?t plan your coastal vacation here unless you?re looking for a silent retreat. It is very quiet and quite far to anything. The nearest town has a WalMart but nothing else to speak of.
Very quite campground
Visited with RPI membership! Very large campground with everything spaced out. The ranger station is about 1 mile from the main camp and you have to go there for most things. It does have a very nice pool, mini golf, fishing pier and cabins on the site. The grounds are well maintained. Not all the sites are useable thanks to the last hurricane. They have about 14 full hook up sites with the rest water and electric. Staff is helpful and friendly as are the permanent tenants. No cable and TV reception is good when you get it. Cell service can be spotty at times. No wifi and the wifi at the hot spot is very slow to unusable. I will go back as I enjoyed the peace and quite and break from technology. I rented a car for a few days because without a vehicle it is impossible to get around unless you have a golf cart or bicycle. The regular rate is $40 night. The RPI rate is $10/ night. They give Good Sam discount!
