Nice folks but incredible amount of traffic noise
Pretty spaces, and very nice folks, but so much I 5 traffic noise which never lets up all night.
Horrible Service & Not Safe
The owner is extremely unprofessional and the space I was assigned for my 28ft trailer was significantly unsafe. It sloped towards the river so badly that I couldn't even put my rear stabilizers down properly. When I raised a concern they didn't care and proceeded to tell me I parked in the space too early and demanded the prior days rental. When I said I intended to voice my concerns about the space and how they do business online, they proceeded to refuse service. Sure this place is cheap, but you get what you pay for and they nickel and dime you for what is ultimately poor accommodations. I went down the street to Brookhollow RV Park had a way better experience. For a couple bucks more I got a level, long, and safe location to park along with a full hookup including dump, wifi cable, plenty of parking, and far superior grounds with nicely manicured grass as opposed to a short dirt lot sloping toward the river, crowded by a tree with no vehicle parking. The staff was far friendlier. Basically a night and day experience. Hopefully, I've saved one of you reading this a lot of grief.
Camp Kalama RV Park
This review is in response to Angelica S. It would be great if people making reviews would be honest in their claims. Angelica and her family lived at Camp Kalama for over a year, including time where they had to use a handicapped ramp at their own RV. Our Café, store and restrooms have ramps, we have had handicapped persons use our boat launch as access to the river if they can not manage any of the banks. (as the incline of the river banks are outside of our control) They had praised our staff and facilities when living here. Angelica is angry because we had a flood on Dec 8th, 2015 and they chose to live elsewhere, even though sites were offered 4 days post flood. Those 4 days everyone was gathered at a spot where bathrooms, showers, water and a dump station was available for use ( not hook ups). We do this to be helpful to our people in an emergency situation, our "flood letter" goes out every November to remind people to be ready and prepared for high water. An act of God is out of our control, and as your family also lived here the Fall/Winter(flood season) of 2014, you were well aware that this river, any river can flood at any time. So take responsibility for your own decisions and try to be happy with where you have chosen to live.
Horrible
Rediculous prices. You get charged for every child, pet and extras you have. Not family friendly just money hungry. Facility is just wrong in every way. Do not stay here. Don't support this nonsense.
Staff and accomodations below par
Staff has no care for people's safety or making one's stay enjoyable. Owners will not protect campers if something happens and will not reimburse your money if something happens that is out of your hands. accommodations for handicap are horrible and both space fee and electric are higher than anywhere else. Watch out for hidden fees too.
Lovely
Quiet little RV Park next to the pristine Kalama river, Kalama, WA. Have been there twice as a camper and multiple times as a Fireside Cafe patron. RV Park staff are helpful and nice, Fireside Cafe is awesome all the time, down home cooking, small space and worth going to. Try their biscuits and gravy for breakfast, my favorite! All the food is good, reasonably priced, the snack shop is great, can buy your WA fishing license there, too. One of my favorite places to camp and eat.
Clean, Clean and more CLEAN!!
What a sweet park! Very clean!! Okay, here's the secret... the outhouses all smelled like "flowers". I'm not kidding! Lots of garbage cans and no flies! Picnic tables were sturdy and making a campfire in a Monster Truck wheel is genius! The rim kept toes warm from a distance. Nice.
It was a great pleasure and we'll be back!!! Thank you
Amazing wildlife and flowers.....
On the rough side but bird, animal watching is tops. River otter, deer and variety of birds is crazy great ! Had seals cruising the Kalama river which at some points you can throw a rock across wide. Its a fishing type camp ground and is wrapped around by the Kalama River, amazing steel head trout if ya get lucky !Salmon fishing closed on river till Aug so we missed them. Stayed 3 months for work reasons. April-June 2011. Hang hummingbird and sun flower feeders and sit back to enjoy !
