Resort Fee?? Really?? For This??
Pros:
-close to Harpers Ferry National Park.
-roads leading to park easy to navigate.
-clean restrooms.
-they give you free pancakes in the morning. Since we are gluten free, this wasn't worth it.
Cons:
-$10 resort fee NOT INCLUDED in published rate or even mentioned.
-no answer from staff about resort fee. This is not a "resort" facility.
-This place charges for a pet - the first place this entire summer to do so.
-internal roadways are too narrow. We saw a trailer trying to get to their site and they literally couldn't make one of the turns.
-they give you a coupon book for discounts at their own facility. Why not just lower the price??
-one coupon was for fudge - buy a pound, get 1/2 pound free. Since we were visiting daughter the next day for a week, we figured we would get some fudge to have for dessert several nights while we saw her. Went to the "coffee shop" to purchase some. All they had was a 1/4 pound of raspberry fudge. When will it be available? "Whenever the person who makes it brings it in."
-sites are DIRT! Most places that charge more than $50 per night have grass, cement, level sites, etc.
-Did I Mention A $10 Resort Fee?? Your KOA discount doesn't apply to this.
Too Big
This is a mega-campground. Hundreds of people, screaming kids, and barking dogs. Our site was one of the most un-level ones we've ever had.
Nice park and dog friendly
The Harpers Ferry KOA is a nice campground.
We camped there last month when it was still pretty chilly so it wasn't crowded. The bathroom/shower facilities were clean and well maintained.
The campground and Harpers Ferry are dog friendly so that was a plus (at least if you like dogs).
We will definitely stay there again.
Excellent family camping
The staff is easily recognizable in the yellow shirts. Well organized. Crafts and things for kids to do through out the day.
The fire wood is expensive. No locals in the area to get wood from. Don't forget to bring it with you.
