Old Florida

I have stayed at the state park multiple times. Park staff are very friendly and helpful. They have two sections for rv's. The new section is level, great privacy with lots of spots. The two cons are the wifi does not work. I could not even hot spot with my phone and your a long bike ride to the lake. The older section is the place to be if you do not have a toad and want wifi. The highlight of my last trip was watching this person fish from a dock. As soon as she would get a fish on the hook, multiple gators would head to it. I saw lots of wild life! You want to avoid the summer if your not accustomed to the heat or bugs of Florida

Myakka Camping

Absolutely cannot wait to camp again! We couldn't bring our 40' bus, Myakka currently does not support that size until they complete the new larger sites. So, we camped in a 6x10 trailer with a few camping comforts. Really bad weekend for Mosquitos!!
THE WILDLIFE !! Can't say enough! It was great!
We saw plenty Deer, Wild Turkeys, several wild boars (different colors), large Vulchers (hundreds) & aligators! It was awesome.
We would ride our golfcart in the morning with our coffee & view all the wildlife. Lot of trails to walk (trails were flooded when we went) can't wait to go back. New gift shop/ restaurant. Can't wait to camp with the bus in the new sites!
