A spot to stay
This is definitely a work in progress. First off our GPS tried to direct us farther down the road. (Not the fault of the RV park). My wife saw their sign on the other side of the road so I made a u turn about a mile further down the road in a mini mart gas station. Not that easy with a 38 foot RV with toad and traffic coming in both directions. The road into the park is paved and in pretty good condition. I almost thought We had made a mistake until I saw the propane tank and small office. No one home... but a note on the door to call a number. I did, and few minutes later, a fellow showed up on his riding mower. Owner, is very friendly. A few items available in the store. (did not see ice). We got checked in and he led us to our site. All spots are dirt, with lots of trees, also a lot of anthills. (Watch your feet as you do your hookups.) Laundry and showers are rather small compared to other parks. We were parked across from a pool that others were using. Not many people staying here and it was rather quiet. Not sure what the draw is in this area. We were on our way through from Andersonville Prison to Savannah. This park was not my first choice, but I did not want to drive any further as the back roads that day had taken a long time to traverse due to the slow speeds. The park advertises a Bluegrass festival here each year. Place was clean and I'd stay again if I had too, but I'd look for another spot first. As we were just staying overnight, it was ok, but I would not use it as a central base at this time. But as I said to begin with it looks like a work in progress. I'm sure it will improve over time.
Not recommended
Large campground, however not where you want to spend time in outdoors. More suitable for transient workers and long term storage. Crude infrastructure, no more than half dozen campers at any time. No pool, no lake or other entertainment in campground.
Hillside Bluegrass RV Park
We stayed here two months while working in the area. The pad areas are very flat and spacious, lots of shade trees and walking trails and the owners are very nice. Good monthly rate. Overall a great experience. A nice place to come and chill out for a while. We'd come back!!!!
