Traveler Reviews
Nice place, good bathrooms
Owners live in house on site. They are personable and making improvements to their park. Bathhouse is clean and maintained well. Close to town for propane, food, restaurants, etc.
Sites are responsibly sized for all RVs with nice green areas.
Only negative is it near a highway and has some noise but not bad, not noticeable in RV.
Would recommend, and when in St. Joe, visit Patte house...5$ entry, and a great historic museum.
Just "ok" for AOK
Stayed there on a cross country trip. Sites all run downhill. And THE BUGS! Argh! It has a small pond on property and the park is bug central. The pool looked nice tho we didn't use it and the staff were friendly and helpful.
Did not stay
We called 2 days ahead and were told we had a site for our 40 ft motorhome. When we arrived we were told that some people were not able to level their coaches on the site we were assigned. We drove through the site and had to reject it an go to an alternate RV Park in the area.
Nice looking small park but several sites are FAR from level.
It'd be better if they hadn't lied.
On our way south on i-29, we decided to forego our previous reservations at a CG that didn't have a pool in favor of this one AFTER calling ahead to make certain the pool was open. Roughly an hour after confirming that the pool was open, we pull in to find it half drained and being worked on. We were able to sit and soak in the hip deep water but that was it. The dishonesty really was not appreciated.
That being said, the pool is a small, kidney-shaped one in a pretty area, and the campground is a pretty one with a stocked pond and several trees. Lots of pull through sites though many aren't very level. Several full-timers, but they seem to be required to keep their sites tidy as there are no unsightly areas. Access is via a half mile of gravel road which is easily enough accessed from the interstate. We have not used the bathrooms or laundry, but both are available.
Newer park
We wanted to hit St. Joseph, Missouri to see the Pony Express Museum and the home where Jesse James was killed in. Unfortunately the Jesse James home was closed for the season, though their website never stated this! So we pulled into the AOK Campground later at night and did school in the morning and left, so it was a quick stay. This was a new campground and they look like they are making improvements so check back with them. Newer park, pretty well kept up.
Bathrooms - never saw them.
Brand new swimming pool which of course was closed and a small playground. Since this a new RV park they do not have much. No propane.
St. Joseph close by, Kansas City is an hour away. Only met the owner late at night. Nice guy, since they only take cash and we didn't have any, the guy said we could mail the fee to him!
Next to a pond with very few trees, close to Interstate 29. Most of the time this traffic noise puts me to sleep, but this time a couple of trucks woke me up.
Paid $20 for a night - off season rate. Another typical RV park in terms of roominess.
