Traveler Reviews
Dishonest to Military Family
I made a reservation in Feb for July2017. Being meticulous, I asked about the cancellation policy in case my orders changed and was ensured that because we were a military family, the cancellation fee would be waived as a courtesy. Low and behold, orders changed within 4 days and I had to cancel. I was told again that my cc would be refunded the full amount because of the previous promise. I received an email indicating the charge was reversed but less the cancellation fee. After repeated phone calls, I was told, "sorry, there is always a cancellation fee." The lady even asked the other employees in the background if that was indeed promised and no one would fess up. Very disappointed that an RV park with such high ratings would be dishonest to any family having to move across the US, less a family making constant sacrifices. I have left a review on other websites but all the management will say is, "sorry you didn't understand our cancellation policy." It wasn't the policy I didn't understand, it was the dishonesty in your staff and integrity to do the right thing. Run Away!! Regardless the promises they make with you over the phone, do not trust them. Will not EVER stay with Timberlane.
Very clean and calm
Very Nice campground for 1or 2 nights, not lots of organized activities, but big spaces of grass to play with your dog or kid. The staff is really friendly and kind. The bathrooms were perfectly clean! The train is about 20 minutes from the campground to go to Philadelphia, it's perfect! There s recycling. Great campground!!
Quiet area
Nice campground. About an hour from the sites of Philadelphia. We were put in the overflow area (we didn't make a reservation),ended up being very nice. Clean showers, friendly people.
Good
Wonderfully quiet. No barking dog,s no people yelling, friendly helpfull staff, did I say quiet?? The bathhouse was very clean The only negative was no hot water in the showers. Other than that. Highly highly recent a nice quiet spot to sit and relax
Timberlane RV Campground
This park bills itself as closest RV park to historic Philadelphia, and it may well be; travel time to Philly is 20-30 minutes, depending on traffic. Park has full service sites, including cable & wi-fi; all have gravel or grass pads & patios, although a few concrete patios. RV sites are somewhat close together, resulting in a very cozy experience with your neighbors. Park appears to have about 2/3 long-term or permanent residents, with remaining 1/3 transient, although the transient campers seem to be located in their own area of park. Interior gravel roads well maintained. Has a small pond/lake in back of park with an assortment of geese & ducks. Spacious unfenced dog run area. Staff friendly & helpful. Would stay again.
Not a bad spot to stop!
Not a bad spot to stop! It is big rig friendly and pet friendly. plenty of pull through sites. Lots are close together but are shaded. We only stayed 1 night as we were passing through. I would stop here again!
All about the location
This park is all about the location - it's the closet to Philadelphia. And there's not much else available in the area. It is well maintained - sites and facilities appear to be cleaned regularly. There are activities to be done on site, if you're into that sort of thing.
The sites are decently spread out, but a bit on top of each other. When we were here, it wasn't full - so they spaced out the rigs nicely. Would imagine that if it was full, it wouldn't feel as spacious.
The front section is tighter and more geared towards short term patrons, and not nearly as shaded. The back part is more scenic, shaded and seems to be where they place the longer term stays and big rigs. The pond, which is quite lovely, is a nice view from many of the back spots.
This is a private park, and they have a list of rules that out numbers their amenities. It made us feel a bit like children being reprimanded by what they will not tolerate.
There is also evidence that they're not as trusting of their short term tenants, as evidenced by the differences in the front bath house versus the rear. In the front bathhouse, all of the showers are controlled by a single push button that delivers a timed spray of water with no say in temperature (it's just above luke warm). It ironic thing is.. I ended up using more water for my shower than I would normally, because I had to wait for a water cycle to end! Their sink faucets are similarly on timers, making brushing teeth difficult.
But in the rear bathhouse, the showers are on standard controls.
The wifi did work fine (they say its park wide and we had no difficulty getting it at our site).
All and all.. not a bad place to say. But way too pricey for what is offered. The below rate reflects a 10% AAA cash discount.
Open year round - full hook-ups
A good place to winterize/de-winterize. Less than a mile from I-295, convenient to shopping. Quiet. Haven't been there in the summer, so don't know what it's like then, but it's a great winter stop for us. Rate is approximate.
