Custer State Park Game Lodge Campground

Beautiful park; great camping

This campground is a reserve-only campground. Each day they mark the campsites that aren't reserved and those are availabe on a first come, first served basis. All RV sites have level concrete pads. Some of the sites are tent only. All have electricity but none have water or sewer.
The bathrooms are beautiful; bright, clean, modern. The showers have an outside door, a middle area to store/change clothes, and a fiberglas shower.
Even though it is a state park it has lots of programs going on during the day and into the evening.
The park is a wonderful park; we saw hundreds of bison, prong horn antelope, burros, prairie dogs. There are 4 lodges, each with a dining room so there are lots of places to eat in the park if you don't want to cook.
Mount Rushmore is about 25 miles away and you can get their via the scenic route or the fast route.
