Great camp
Stayed one night was previously a KOA, no problems w electric, nice FHU, pull thru! Will stay again.
A Worker's Campground
This park is good for an overnight but I would not hope for a longer stay. The pull-thru sites are not very long. We were only able to park our Jeep behind our rig because we had it disconnected, and even then it barely fit. The office staff were friendly and efficient. The facilities were clean. The pool was nice. The sites were close together and no patio space, plus the turns were tight. It also appeared to be a worker's campground, as there were a lot of TX plates and work trucks. We also happened to be the only Class A in the park. On the upside, we did get a 15% discount for being military, which was better than the Good Sam discount.
Run Down
This place has become a place for the construction workers in the area to live full time. It floods when it rains. The electricity surges. They are full of full time trailers. They have large trees that block the satellite signal. Last time we stayed there we could not get a signal because of trees and they said they had no spaces available to move us. I tried to book a space on the end that I could get a signal but they gave it away just before we arrived. They had already charged my credit card and had it confirmed on my reservation to hold that space for us. The people they gave it to were still hooking up at the site when we arrive at 1pm. The manager just refunded our money and did not care at all so we went to another park that is new and much better. We will never book this Houston East RV Park ever again. It is terrible. There are 2 much nicer and newer parks within 10 minutes of this run down place. It certainly is over priced but there are so many workers in the area that have no choice. Most parks in that area are full. We will be staying at one of the newer parks from now on.
Poor well water
I'm a Full time RVer, working in the area. I have stayed at this park for a year and have had countless problems with the water and power systems. There was a week this month that I received an emergency water shut off notice everyday. The power also surges frequently. If I could find another full time place to stay in the area I would move.
I was pleasantly surprised.
I had begun to wonder about my "on line choice" for a park to stay at as I drove through an industrial area along the freeway guided by my GPS. Then up ahead I saw their sign and pulled in. The lady in the office, (and her dog) were very friendly. The office has a small store inside along with ice for sale. There is a Laundromat located at behind the office and could be entered from it's own set of outside doors. It was clean, tidy and prices were reasonable. Spaces are concrete, level, with grass next to them. Looks like a few people were staying for an extended period. But the Park was well kept, and clean. There was a pool and BBQ pits on site. The east side looked over fields of tall grass. There were quite a few trees, but some spots were located in the sun. Wi-Fi is available. We were just passing through, but I would go back and stay there again. By the way, even with the freeway so close, I did not notice much noise.
Children under 5 not allowed.
