Clean, reasonable price, and friendly

In the middle of nowhere but convenient to I40 and a days easy drive to Albuquerque. Very helpful and friendly staff. Clean park with store and gas station. Gravel parking but pretty level; nice trees.

Organ Pipe; a national treasure

Nestled in the Sonoran desert along the Mexican border in central Arizona, this gem of the National Park System has an outstanding campground with great facilities. All sites are paved pull-thru sites, set among the desert trees, shrubs and cactus and feature picnic table and BBQ grill. Restrooms have flush toilets and some have solar showers. A dump station is conveniently located near the campground and numerous trails abound. Reservations are not accepted but according to staff, the campground rarely fills. While this monument has a relatively remote location, it has beautiful spring weather, an outstanding visitor center and several interesting drives and hikes. Supplies can be purchased in Ajo, about 30 miles away.

Great stopover spot

We stayed here traveling from North Idaho to the Olympic Peninsula; both coming and going. Nice clean state park with full hook-ups and convenient to Interstate 90. We stayed on Sunday and mi-week so no reservations needed but weekend stays in the summer likely need a reservation. Gravel pads are mostly level and many pull-thru sites but some of the utilities in the pull-thru sites were inconvenient in my opinion.

Great bargain

Sierra Trails is a great place to spend a day or several. It is clean, easy access, nice spaces with concrete patios, BBQ and shade trees. Laundry was clean and inexpensive and the park is a great bargain. We paid $22.50 with SKP discount plus $2 more for cable. Internet is free. We would definitely stay here again. We stayed in a travel trailer.

Great for over nighters

This park offers a newly developed special section for over night visitors. The spaces are large with concrete pads, picnic tables, palm trees, and excellent utilities. We received the SKP discount. Our only complaint would be the train and truck noise, but it wasn't much different than other parks we've stayed at.

Close to Hearst Castle, but overpriced

We stayed here at the main campground for two days while visiting Hearst Castle. It was almost completely vacant. The sites are nicely spaced with vegetation between them for privacy. All parking is paved with a maximum of 35' depth. The restrooms were clean and the staff courteous, but the generator rules only allow use between the hours of 10:00 am and 8:00 pm. This may be reasonable during the summer, but during the winter when the sun sets at 4:30 pm and the temperatures drop to freezing, it is a burden. We stayed here in a travel trailer.

Reasonable rates, easy access

We found the park to be reasonably priced, convenient and reasonably quiet. Perhaps it is the time of year but we heard no dirt bikes or loud music. We could faintly hear highway and train noise. It was very cold (low 20's) and the outside water faucet froze up during the night. Might have been smart to run a trickle of water all night, or disconnect as we did, until the faucet unfroze. Very courteous staff, clean laundry and located conveniently to aso Robles proper. We stayed here in a travel trailer.

Clean, friendly, reasonable

We spent three nights in this park. We were escorted to our site with help provided backing in. We had a beautiful desert willow in our site and there are many other trees in some areas of the park. The laundry room is spotless and the park is close to Elephant Butte State Park.
