Rodeo, fishing, big time fun

We stayed for 4 days. We had a a group of friends and family. We camped and my kids "glamped". Our site was on the water with a dock at each site. We rented golf carts which you really need because the place is huge and spread out. It has the rodeo on Saturday nights followed by a huge street dance. It has the best and biggest petting zoo. You can rent boats, take airboat and swamp buggy rides. There are horses to ride. There is a great breakfast buffet. A lot of mature trees. There is full hook ups, tent sites, pools, etc. Very hot in the summer so go October through May. Very kid friendly. There is skeet and trap, archery. There is mechanical bull riding. Zip line and rock climbing for the kids. There is also a small air strip. Mini golf. So many things to list. Super clean. Also lots of choices of hotel rentals if you have large groups.

Alligator heaven

This is right on Lake Okeechobee so the view is like looking at the ocean. The park was in the process of being updated. There is a large sea wall area where you can fish or dock your boat. We were self contained so I can't comment on the bath facilities. Windy when we stayed. Bring all your supplies because the town of Pahokee's shopping leaves everything to be desired.

Mickey Mouse here we come

This is the cream of the crop. You pay a hefty price but all in all it is worth it. There are so many things to do and places to go. We try to go twice a year. We like to skip the "roughing it" part of camping. It is our "Happy Place". Just watching all the smiles on the kids faces makes the trip worth it.

We have even skipped the theme parks and just enjoyed visiting the hotels on the property. We ride the water craft and rent a golf cart to ride around the campground. The pools are great although the main pool is crowded there is another one we have found that is usually quiet.

You can be as active as you want or as lazy as you want.

Listening to the lions roar

We have only been to this KOA one time. It is a great place to take the kids to see all the animals and to visit the park next to the campground. The camp itself is nice and rustic.

Camping, fishing and a family reunion

We have stayed here multiple times. Our best trip was an Easter weekend with 50 members of our huge family. We had RVs, pop ups and we rented the little cabins and big lodges and a park 5th wheel. We had huge cookouts for breakfast and dinners. We had an Easter Egg hunt. We all made great use of the two pools, game room and mini golf and big people 9 hole course. Local fishing on and off site in Lake Okeechobee. There is lots to do and the people were great about such a large crowd.

5 minutes from home

We have been going to this Palm beach county park for several years for quick getaways. It is very well maintained and inexpensive. We use full hookup options on the water. There is a very large lake and many of the campers are local weekend campers that bring their water crafts. Big Canadian population in the winter. Close to shopping and medical facilities for long term campers. We have met great friends that camp in large groups here. It is next to a small regional airport which my husband loves since he was a commercial pilot for 30 yrs. We are close to home but it feels like thousands of miles away.
