Good base camp
If you want to explore the best of the North Coast, this park is a great central location set inbetween Eureka and the gigantic redwoods of Del Norte County. The hippie town of Arcata is nearby, be sure to check it out.
Spendy, but the park is clean and well-kept. Not a lot in the way of frills but they have the basics that you'd want, including level sites, grassy areas, laundry facilities and a pet-friendly attitude.
