Great place to stay when passing through

We overnighted at Santa Rosa RV Park in late June 2017 when passing through the region. I have a vacation home in Santa Fe, so am pretty familiar with NM and this campground is quite typical of the region, meaning desert topography. It was nice to see they have quite a few trees on the property, as shade can be scarce in NM. The campground was easy to find and access to our pull-thru, FHU site was not a problem for our motorhome with tow vehicle (25' motorhome with toad - 42' overall). We did not have to unhook our toad. I saw another review mention there are no sewer hookups...that is not the case...we had a sewer hookup. The interior streets were easy to navigate and there seemed to be several pull thru sites, so I'd say this campground is big rig friendly.

We reserved a spot earlier in the day while on the road and the owner was nothing but professional and friendly. We arrived after hours and had several pull throughs to choose from. It was quite dark and the site numbers were hard to read. We found a spot that was fairly level with full hookups. All sites are hard pack dirt. There were some grassy areas that were well watered and taken care of...which our dogs appreciated. The park was fairly full, but not completely booked. There is a pool, tent sites and a restaurant. The next morning we were bummed the restaurant was not open. Oh well. We would stay here again if passing through. We paid 38.75 including tax and discounts.

Easy In and Out

Got in late on Thanksgiving Day so self registered in the drop box. On the second try found a 50 amp site. Bathrooms were clean and there was a dog area as well. People were very nice. There is the small restaurant on site, but we drove to the Mc Donald's not far from the campgrounds on the way back onto I-40 West. We would come back because it was clean, easy, and they were dog friendly. Owners are nice folks who work hard

Exceptional Customer Service!!

I have stayed at Santa Rosa RV campground a couple times. It is very clean and well-maintained. And the people that own this campground are the most helpful and friendly I have found anywhere. Matt, who takes reservations and checks you in, is the best. (By the way he also cooks their fine barbecue). He has remembered me every time I have come back ? without making a reservation ahead of time ? and remembered where I was heading for last time and asked me how my trip was. He also saved me when I had truck problems heading west towards Albuquerque. I called to head back and reserve the campsite again and by the time I got back to the campground he had the parts and repair all lined up. You simply can't get better customer service than Matt and his grandfather Chris provide ? thank you.

Old But Not Down

Santa Rosa Campground and RV Park is obviously an older park, but it is not neglected or unattractive. They work very hard to keep the park up.
We had reservations and the registration went smoothly. Office staff couldn't have been nicer. Office was very tidy and had many interesting souvenirs for sale. The park is down a hill from the office and is immediately attractive in a New Mexico desert sort of way. The High Plains have been in drought for some time. The park struggles to keep some grass, but is switching over to native New Mexico grasses that grow taller and hold the soil. I thought it looked environmentally sensible and attractive. A maintenance man lives on site and we saw him very busy all day.
The roads and sites are gravel in some areas native sand has percolated up and softened the footing. Our site was long and level. Utility hook up was easy and convenient. Wi-Fi was good till the park began to fill, then slowed. Cable was ok, a little grainy but watchable. The sites and roads are bordered by cut timbers. The whole park was clean and well kept and fit well with the arid countryside.
There is a pool, in season, and looked very nice. But what was most cool was the restaurant on site next to the office. There was a short menu. You could order at the office and have the food delivered to your site or eat at the restaurant. We had a fun treat and had our dinner delivered.
There are two complete bathroom and shower buildings. One large block bldg is in the center of the rv park. The bathrooms and showers there were clean and well kept, very acceptable. The second bathrooms are up the hill at the office near the pool. These are terrific, big, bright, sparkling bathrooms with bight shiny tile and very clean facilities. Take the walk.
This park is well lit at night and a safe and secure stop at night. A place to rest off the road.

Great place to stay

Nice place to stay and the price is right! Office staff very helpful and friendly. Made reservations over the phone, and had to call back for directions. The Manager came and had us follow him back. So very kind. The restaurant on site is great, we ate in the dinning room but it will be delivered to your site. Very clean bathrooms. Paid 36.00
and would stay here again.

not a 4 star campground

Went on-line and picked this campground because it was rated so high. When we called the line was busy until later in the afternoon. When we finally reached we were told they were busy and would call us back. When he did call he would only book unless we gave a credit card, which many campgrounds dont do. We still booked since there was not much selection in Santa Rosa. Once we were near we called because we couldnt locate, when he anwsered. He said he was busy and would call back but I said I needed help, he was very rude and arrogant. The sites dont have pads, the roads are dusty and the WIFI is extremely weak. We stayed in a motorcoach
