We will be back!
Such a nice surprise to find this quiet and well taken care of place right in town! Easy pull throughs for 40' motor home and tow vehicle. The only disappointing thing was that the Gila Cliff Dwellings are closed due to a washed out road to it! Would like to have stayed longer but just traveling through this time...we will be back!
Nice park in old mining town
We stopped here for a two night stay and found this a very pleasant park. We drive a 45' bus with a 20' car trailer and were able to navigate the park without problems. The pull through was actually long enough to accommodate us with room to park the Land Cruiser after removing it from the trailer.
There are pull through and back in sites as well as some rental cabins "bunkhouses".
Roads are gravel and sites have a gravel drive/pad and some grass surrounding them. Most sites have a privacy screen consisting of rustic wood / timbers / shrubbery that serve as a wind break as well.
Small laundry on site - 4 top loading washers and 4 dryers (which we did not use). Did not check out the showers/bathrooms. Central dumpster location with recycling bins serves the entire campground.
Wi-fi reception was passable from our site although the speed was slow. Verizon air cards and voice worked well. ATT has minimal coverage in the area - spotty voice service and only Edge data - both would probably be unusable if you don't have an amplified setup like we do.
RV park is on an old farm and numerous antique farm implements are scattered throughout the park. Surprisingly, it is located just behind a residential/commercial area (stores, apartments and homes border the park). Their web site leaves the impression they are in a rural location. Despite the in-town location of the park - it was very quiet at night. There was some road noise from Highway 180 but it was nothing that would be considered annoying.
Overall a very nice property that shows pride of ownership. Well worth a stop if you happen to be in the area to see either Silver City or the Gila Cliff Dwellings.
