Very Friendly!
I wouldn't call this an "upscale" park by any means,,,,,but it was clean, the lawns were mowed, the roads were paved, the bathrooms were very clean, and so was the pool. The park host was just wonderful, and no nonsense was allowed. The park is quiet, although it is on a major road, so the occasional traffic could be heard. Nights were QUIET though, so we were very happy. There are several permanent homes on site, some kept better than others, but they are owner owned, so I'm sure the campground has limited say on how many pink flamingos and flags are hung out front. The gazebo and fire pit area was lovely,,,,,,lake lots are prettier than the others, with plenty of wild life around the pond. We loved sitting with our coffee in the morning and watching the birds and turtles.Washers and dryers are available, and although we didn't do laundry, there appeared to be plenty and they appeared to be working just fine. The location was phenomenal,,,,,minutes to beaches, short walk to stores, and right on the trolley line for cheap transportation when you don't want to drive to restaurants and shopping. We had no problems with electricity fluctuating or dirty pools at all,,,,,,everything worked well and was as clean as a whistle. I have seen much nicer parks,,,,,,,but I have seen much worse too. For the rate I paid, I was more than happy. We are staying in June for a week, and we have already requested Lot number 7 because it has a lovely dock to put chairs on and enjoy morning coffee.
Bof bof
Noisy area sirens day and night very busy road poorly maintained pool Otherwise good stay
Great wifi !!
Consider this...
Electric power fluctuates during peak periods leading to possible burnout of refrigerator motors & other appliances. We're happy we weren't there when A/Cs were needed; may have burned them out, if we had the power to run them to begin w! As it was, we use a surge protector for our 50 AMP service & it tripped off continually during peak periods, possibly saving one or more of our units. Our neighbors were totally unaware of these 'brown outs!' I did apprise management of this prob twice, but was given to understand that was status quo. I returned after leaving & told management of a possibility it was the electric company's problem off site that may be causing the power drop. Considering they charge double what other parks in area charge, one would think this serious problem would have been resolved 10 plus yrs ago when it was noticed by at least one of the park's permanent residents, but it wasn't! Very noisy being right on Alt. 19, w major intersection & traffic, especially for those at sites close to road. 2 very serious accidents during our stay. An average of 6 emergency vehicles per day, day & night w full sirens blaring away - no exaggeration.
Sherwood Forest RV Resort is located within 100 feet of the Pinellas Trail. You can walk, bicycle, roller skate or jog the Pinellas Trail, a linear county park which connects St. Petersburg to Tarpon Springs.
