Poverty Point State Park
This is one of the nicest Parks that we have ever been involved with. The pads are all asphalt with choice of 20/30/50 amp Electric and the water pressure is very good. With the Historical site just a few miles north of here makes it a great place to stop by. It has pull through sites for overnights and is definitely big rig friendly.
Modern Amenities
We stayed in a back in site with 50 amp, water, sewer, and wifi. This park has a few pull thru's but they are water and electric only. This park still feels new. I'm not sure when it was constructed, but the newly planted trees are still not tall enough to provide much shade. We visited the park in late August. It was very hot and there were few visitors. We were in site 5 which luckily was shady with a nice long, paved pad. We rented a canoe and checked out the reservoir which was green and dirty looking. We drove over to the swimming beach and the water was greenish there as well. We were warned about alligators, but did not see any. There were plenty of herons and egrets though. Overall, a very pretty park with nice looking facilities.
