Terrible
Great location,we stayed here years ago but its obviously under new ownership although we never actually saw or met anyone!!!Bathrooms dirty,no toilet paper, soap or towels, filthy…spot we were assigned to by sign on door was occupied, called and texted number…no answer…spent the night and left in the morning.
Owner
This Park keeps coming up with my phone number and has pics of my RV Park in Nevada Texas. I have called to get it corrected but nothing been done. I need this fixed because it is affecting my Business and I tell people that they are looking at wrong Park and I am sure you are losing business too
The best!
Could not ask for a better place to park. We loved it here. Within walking distance to several forums and great restaurants. The owner was a very, very nice man with lots of suggestions. Couldn?t have asked for anything more!!!
Rude
The owner that runs the front desk is terribly rude and could not care less about you as a customer/visitor. We reserved our spot for 2 nights and on day two he came out to let us know that he booked over us and there was nothing he could do. Austin is a very busy town and with nothing else available anywhere we were out of luck just like that.
Save yourself the pain and DO NOT STAY HERE. The facilities are gross and outdated, wifi does not work, and spaces are very small. The only thing going for this park is the central location.
Pecan Grove
Location location location it's all about the location this is a gorgeous area the bathrooms need to be updated but other than that this is a beautiful park
Even at the technology Mecca of Austin
Location is Great... After that it's downhill. You don't get cleaner using these Bathrooms. And if you think you're going to you a computer, think again. Even the phone service is terrible. You can't even tether a device. And I'm not to sure the guy at the counter cares if you like it here or not.
Old School but perfect location
Stayed here in April 2014. I was a bit worried when I first pulled up because of the old appearance of the grounds. After spending 5 days there I knew why many people have made that their permanent residence or home away from home. It is the perfect location for everything in Austin. Nothing too fancy but all you need when you are bringing your home on wheels with you. Very nice people and very peaceful considering it is in the heart of the city. Lots to do within walking distance and if you'd like to venture further it is also on the bus route. Great food close by too...in every direction you walk!! FYI-no credit cards accepted. Cash or check only. No website to look them up either, just a phone. I never expected something peaceful downtown but that is what I got. I would definitely stay there again. Thanks!!
Still our favorite Austin Park!
We just love love love this place. We came back to Austin just planning to stick around for a few days, and Pecan Grove kept magically having availability to extend our stay out to nearly a month. They even got us into a more spacious site than some of their typical transit sites, making our stay an absolute joy.
What a perfect location where we hardly ever had to drive. So many yummy eats within a block or two, walking around Town Lake (you'll need it after all the eating out!), access to Zilker Park and public transit. And there is so much free entertainment going on either in Zilker or Auditorium Shores, that you just can't get bored here if you tried.
The rates have gone up since we stayed here last - now $35-40/night, or $220-250/week. But for the location? It's absolutely worth it.
The free WiFi was useable on and off. And the AT&T towers seem to be a bit overloaded in the area, so cellular connectivity was hit or miss.
Nice park ...
We stayed here just off a whim driving through. The park was nice and the people were pleasant. Seems like a lot off full timers live in the park, but sites are up kept for the most part.
From a visitor's point of view
I have never parked my RV at Pecan Grove RV, however, every time I am in Austin, I visit a fulltime RV friend who is a long-term occupant there and I love the place. It is funky, fun and an endangered vintage park that is within walking or bicycling distance of 98% of everything you'd want to experience in Austin.
