We just left Destin West after staying for a month. Very nice park, extremely clean & well maintained. Fairly easy access to Gulf beaches across the road, thru the Ramada Resort. The RV park is on the Bay side of Okaloosa Island. If going there, get a pad at least 7 spaces away from Miracle Strip Hwy... extremely busy road. No good walking or bicycling available from the park, but Skidoos, pontoon boats & kayaks can be rented for use on the bay immediately next door. Handy. Nice but small pool, yet heated to perfect temp! So usable even in cool weather!
This is a GREAT place! We are testing it out for a night tonight bc we heard such great things about it from people we met during our month at Destin West RV Resort in Ft Walton Beach. I've made reservations here for a month in Mar-April 2017. Beautiful facilities, wonderful pool, new owner has invested mightily in grounds & amenities to attract snowbirds. Easily accessible restaurants nearby, supermkt very close. Waterfront on Santa Rosa Sound. Very convivial. Can't wait to return next year. Excellent & competitive monthly rates for Jan-April.
