Manatee's
If you like to look at Manatee's this is a nice place to see them. From the campground you can walk along the Manatee river and see and abundance of them.
Neat Little Park
30 of the campsites are in one area; the other 4 are in the horse camp area but seem to be available to non-horse-campers. The sites are reasonably private. The road is paved, the sites are hard pack sand and gravel with table and fire ring. Hiking trails in the woods, but the markings are quite confusing and we ended up going in a circle rather than the direction we wished. The park gives you a map, but it leaves much to be desired.
Bathhouse is very nice; clean, tiled. They rent bikes and canoes.
Nice quiet state park
There are only a few pull through sites. Most sites are good sized with privacy between sites. There are also "horse sites" with stables and corrals close for you to bring your own horse. The park has miles of horse trails. About five miles to a Walmart and easy access to Tampa and Bradenton.
