Quiet!
Brazos Bend is SO quiet! We stayed 3 nights in a class A. The sites are paved and wide, with a picnic table, fire pit, hook ups. The sites are spread out, huge trees near each site. The price was a little high for a state park, we thought. By the time you pay the $20 site fee and the $5/person/night fee, it came to $30/night for us. The showers were just OK, not great, kind of cold without a shower curtain on the non-handicap shower. Semi-clean showers, not bad at all but not as spotless as some.
The park itself is great. We counted 120 alligators on one hike alone. Beautiful. Nature center is nice, staff is nice. Very relaxing stay.
Very Enjoyable stay
This State Park is kept very clean. Many of the sites are very spacious, with wide open fields for relaxing and daydreaming. There are some well groomed bike paths. Watch out for alligators! There is an Observatory for Saturday night viewing.
