Lovely Park with Great Programs
This park is on the outskirts of Savannah, and a bit of a haul in traffic to get to the historic areas of town. However the park itself is lovely, with lots of nature, hiking trails, marshes, history and culture to be discovered. Definitely treat yourself to one of the ranger programs - they are excellent, and we most enjoyed learning about the local wildlife, plants and tidal flows.
The camping spots are all very spacious, and they're all on a first come first serve basis - even if you have a reservation. We like this, as you can choose what works for you when you arrive. They offer water and electric, and there is a dump station, trash and recycling onsite.
Cellular towers seem to be on the edge, and we had marginal Sprint and AT&T signal, but it was at 3G. Enough to get work done, but not enough to squander our day away online (probably a plus).
All and all, enjoyed this park. However it is a bit on the pricey side - especially considering you also pay a day use fee on top of it.
