Convenient, clean, quiet

Not much to add to the previous reviews, this is a well-kept RV park that is convenient to the Baton Rouge area without being located directly in the city itself. Interestate is close by but there is no highway noise that is noticable. Easy in/out access, access roads and sites are asphalt paved.

All sites are full hookup sites and include cable television hookup. Many sites have trees but there are some that are without trees or open canopy enough to use a satellite antenna. The park offers complimentary wifi access but it seems overloaded and quite slow at many times both day and night.

We stayed here 3 nights and would visit again although we don't normally frequent KOA because of the high cost to support various amenities that we do not use.

The Purple Park...

I titled it this because of the purple golf cart they use to guide you to your campsite... Never a question of who their loyalty is to... Lol but I get it... The park was a nice place to stay: nice camp store, clean facilities, laundry area seemed good (although they had maybe 6 washers but only 2 extra large dryers), very nice pool and hot tub (although I don't know why you'd want to be any hotter in July in Louisiana... Lol), covered pavilion, game room, swing, dog area, shaded, concrete pads, putt-putt, and convenience. They did have what appeared to be 2 sections (one for transients and one for more long term) that were separated by the cabins. Everyone we encountered appeared friendly though and we would not hesitate to stay here again. Rate seemed a little high at $55 with a KOA card...From my research, I really do believe it is the nicest place to stay if you want to be in close proximity to Baton Rouge.

Texas Jayhawker

A long time KOA with the normal facilities. Facilities clean. Most sites have concrete pads. Gravel roads. WIFI worked well. Many sites seem to look like long term residents with lots of possessions stored around and under their RV's - this is a major distraction from the appearance of the Park. The facility should be much better kept and attractive to justify the relatively high rates. With some work this park could be a 4-star facility

Great Stay!

My family lives in Denham Springs so we stay at this park several times a year. Every time we have stayed, the caretakers are very friendly and helpful. Is an older park but is very well kept.
We have a 40 ft coach and pull an Avalanche. Have no problems getting in and out.

Lovely park

This park is about 15 miles east of Baton Rouge, but it's your best bet for the Baton Rouge area. It is sparkling clean; the roads are gravel, the pads are concrete and level. There are lots of trees. The picnic table sits on a concrete tile area. You can walk to Sam's and the Bass Fishing Shop.

The pool and hot tub were open in February; very unusual for ANY park. The mini-golf is one of the better ones we've seen at RV parks. The store is well-stocked and the people who check you in are very friendly. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is that there are only 2 showers for the entire campground. Granted, the shower, in a separate room by itself, is large but still that's pretty few showers for such a large campground. There are a similar number of stalls in the ladies' and men's toilets.

Reveiw Comments

My wife and I stayed at the KOA Campgrounds in Denham Springs, LA. for just a few days short of a month. this is an excellent campground. It has all of the amenities one would want or need, including pool, minature golf putting green, pavilon, enclosed pet walking grounds, Wifi and cable connections.
However, the best part of this campground is really the staff. All of them could not have been any better in assistance, for all of our needs, regardless of what it might have been. Included in the staff, not in any real order, were -- Jim, Joan, Dennis, Jerry, Opal, Ted, Glen and others. If I've left anyone out, please forgive me. All of the staff were just absolutely great.
