Very Convenient

This nice little RV Park was a great score! For starters, the manager and owner were incredibly friendly and down to earth. They truly went out of the way to accommodate us. I understand this is a happening place during peak season, but our stay was nice and quiet. It was a fairly small park, but clean and very well cared for. The sites were crushed shells with a concrete patio. They even positioned us so as to get the evening shade. Each site had its own trash can. The cable was excellent (but we had to pay a few dollars more for it, no big deal really since the rate was discounted). They had a cute covered tiki bar that had cooler air and with a tv located beside the pool. They also had a gym with dumbbells, ellipticals, treadmills, and some hooks with bands and open space with TV for yoga, etc. They also had a club house for games, gatherings, etc. I didn't check out the laundry or bath facilities, but if it's anything like the rest of the park I am sure you will be fine. The RV Park was also very conveniently located to restaurants, grocery stores, and Siesta Key Beach! Finding this place was like finding an oasis in the middle of a desert!

Sunset Haven!

Point of View owners should change the name to Sunset View! We were here for 2 weeks and waterfront. Every night I swore that I was not going to take anymore pictures, but each night was like an artist painted a different scene... All so incredibly beautiful! So, location= check! This review will most likely sound so good that you'd think they paid me to write it, but nada... Just giving credit where credit is due! The RV Resort was indeed that-- a resort. There was a nice pool or "ool" as they called it on their sign, because "notice there's no P in it and let's keep it that way". Lol The pool overlooked the Gulf. The Gulf waters were calm and there were also kayak and SUP rentals available on site for very reasonable rates thru Garl's (highly rated on Trip Advisor). The sites were hard packed rock, had excellent cable, power, water pressure, sewage. The spaces were very long and wide with hedges between each site for privacy. These were probably the most spacious sites we've encountered yet! There was also a game room/lounge and a very decent workout facility. The laundry facility was nice (but could have been more centrally located instead of beside the office), but it was operated by an outside vendor (still no complaints). It was gated and security staff were quite visible, yet it was not a place where there was rif raf. The office staff were very friendly, cordial, helpful and went out of the way to accommodate any needs. They gave me many good tips about the area. The landscaping crew even tried to recruit me... Haha! There are also many restaurants within walking distance. I highly recommend Snook's (on the water). Just across the street from Point of View was a paved path for jogging and biking, and though it turns into sidewalks in places and crosses over the highway and goes over fishing bridges, the Heritage Trail will go all the way to Key West---100 miles (I know this because I rode my road bike to there in about 6 hours). In conclusion, Point of View RV Resort seems to be a popular destination on the weekends, but is quiet during the week. I felt like a kid at summer camp and you should add this to your list of destinations!

2 Nights Stay

Ok not to sound harsh here, but clearly my rating scale and the other ones who reviewed this campground are not in line. I can in no way find that this place is a 4, let alone a 5. It barely makes the 3 scale for me. It's not that anything was terribly wrong, it's just that there wasn't anything terribly right either. Did it serve its purpose? Yes. But did it wow me? No. And that makes it a 3. Upon arrival, I tried to make a joke with the host because there was a sign posted that said "no tents". I pointed to our rig and said,"we have our 'tent' right there. Apparently, I am not funny... Lol... you may agree. While I did receive a campground map, at no time was it explained to me where things are located such as dumpsters, etc (all things 4 and 5 stars do from my experience). The campground was maybe a third full. And I sleep thru trains, but the highway noise was noticeable. It wasn't so much the car noise as it was that all of a sudden a car would streak by with extremely loud music blaring. The facilities seemed adequate for laundry. I did not check out the bath facility. There was no cable although we could get maybe 8 channels with our antennae. Wifi was open but was faster routing thru my hotspot. Sites were level and spacious. However, the soil was clumpy dirt which was worse than sand. And the rate was about $40 with taxes and includes a Good Sam discount. Could I stay here again? Yes. Will I stay here again? Probably not, as I may explore one closer to the beach.

Hidden Gem...and Back Again

We discovered this place last summer and make it our place to stay when in Fayetteville. So here we found ourselves again when my husband had to come to the area for 2 weeks for his work. We were not able to get site #23 (maybe because I gave away the secret), but we ended up with another site that we actually liked equally, if not better (but I'll keep that site # to myself this time... Lol). I was pleased to find that they had updated their laundry facility, and must say that the washers and dryers do large loads at $1.50 each. The dryers are excellent. And of course, the staff are very helpful and friendly! This stay was even better than before. And they were at full capacity the day we left.

Gateway to the Blue Ridge Parkway

We chose this park because of its close proximity to the Blue Ridge Parkway. There are many things to explore in the area and this KOA allowed us to have a great place from which to launch. The KOA was an appealing park with a large creek and 3 large ponds, lots of room to run for me. There was also a pool and kids play area, as well as a set-up for corn hole and some other recreational games. The laundry area was nice, ac, and the large dryers were under a covered outdoor area (probably so as not to heat up the washing area), shower/ bath facilities were very clean and homey, decent camp store, and gravel sites. The park was very large, and had a variety of sites to include tent camping (appearing to be very popular on the weekends). My only complaint would be the length of the back-in sites. When we arrived we were able to pull thru bc no one was behind us. However, when we hooked up to leave, it was a bit of a challenge because of the vehicles parked around and in front of you (and no one offered to move their truck so you could have a little extra room to maneuver). What else? They pick your trash up daily at your site, and there was a great BBQ place nearby calked Okey Dokey's (Guy Fieri needs to check this place out for his Triple D), oh and I personally love the sound of the trains, as I grew up around them with my dad working on the railroad. Staying near trains seems to be our signature! Overall, I'd say this KOA is a nice place to stay.

Diamond in the Rough

We were visiting a friend in Jackson and after reviewing the parks in Jackson, just were not satisfied that they would meet our needs... So we decided to stay at Parkers Crossroads about 30 miles away... And we are glad we did! At first glance, we thought it would be our typical 3 star rating, which was ok... But after 2 days there, we decided it really is a 4 star. It is so peaceful and serene. You hear the birds and the geese coming in on the pond, which was picturesque. We had a nice big level pad with a wood deck that was flush with the pad. The owner was very friendly, drives you to your site in his cart, and spends a few minutes talking and welcoming you. The owner really does take pride in his property and seems to always be on site. The facilities were plenty adequate. They had a nice little camp store. The pool was't open yet and was a good size, but lacked a little in pizzaz... But I'm sure kids won't complain (though we don't have kids). The other people in the RV Park were also welcoming and friendly. The Park also had one of the best put together brochures of things in the area and promoted other businesses, which made it very convenient to find things you need. There was a small grocery store about 4 miles away and it had everything you need. There are several Civil War Battlefields nearby to explore. The wifi worked better than any of the previous 7 stops we had from Las Vegas to here. The cable was great! They say you can't judge a book by it's cover, and that is certainly true at Parkers Crossroads. It certainly exceeded my first impression. We will definitely make this our stop when in the area.

On the River Bank...

Not far from the interstate and on the river bank... Loved how the bridge lit up at night and it appeared to be a pedestrian bridge... Saw several road bikers nearby and walking distance to downtown... The park itself had a paved interior road but other than that it was basically a gravel parking lot... No cable but good amount of local channels... Wifi worked well... If you need shower facilities, they have a men's and a women's with one shower/toilet/sink each and some lockers, but clean... Not a very big park... Didn't check out the laundry facility... Office was tiny but friendly people... There was a Coast Guard Office inside the park... Gated and we certainly felt safe... And now for the funny part--- we recently introduced our cat to a leash but she is old and set in her ways and doesn't much care for it, but we saw a man walking his cat on a leash! Hilarious site and we could relate! Lol... Would stay here again, especially at a rate of $24 (with a retired military discount)

OK...

Nice smaller RV Park... Gravel sites... Rained overnight and when we were leaving and while puddles are to be expected, the gravel was hard packed and not too bad... I always inspect the facilities though we don't have a need for most of them... Showers/bathrooms appeared tidy and clean... However I did not locate the laundry facility... Had a pool (not open yet) and a meeting hall...pretty sure owners live on site... About mile off interstate... This will be our stop when passing thru this area

Overnighter

Gravel, somewhat confusing lay-out at some sites... Thought ours was a back-in from looks of site but was a pull-thru... Decent lobby area... Indoor pool... Limo service to The Big Texan (we ate there when we were in Amarillo years ago, but passed this time bc of pending severe weather with possibility of tornadoes... Not sure if this place has a storm shelter or not... Was very windy when we checked in but no mention of it)... It's an ok place to overnight but I'd be tempted to try another place next time

Almost a 5 Star

Upon arrival everything appeared wonderful. The RV Park is huge, nice concrete patios with picnic table, spacious sites, friendly people, pool (though not open for season yet), and I imagine the laundry was good (though we didn't check it out bc we were just staying overnight). On the surface it seems like everything I would expect of a 5 Star. However, customer service is generally what separates 5 Stars from 4 Stars, in my opinion. Let me explain: we had an issue with their cable. It was not working at our site. I went to the office to explain the situation and the guy said they were closing but he would "try" (key word) to send someone over to check it out. Two hours later, we gave up on that happening and reverted to our antennae for channels (one of my husband's pet peeves is paying for a service and not getting it). The next morning, I politely went into the office and told them I wanted to make them aware that cable did not work at our site; I told them I did not know if it was on our end or theirs, but it worked for us at our last stop of 4 nights. The office lady then told me,"oh yeah, that site had been blocked off and they must have removed it bc when you called it was the last pull-thru we had." I told her that I was happy we could get a site in the Park, but I would have expected that they would tell me if there was an issue ahead of time and that I thought a discount should have been offered if a service is advertised and we don't receive it. She smiled and told me thanks for letting them know. And that was the moment they fell from the stars in my review! We would stay here again bc everything else was wonderful and the rate was reasonable... Despite the minor hiccup.
