Great folks
Great staff, gave military discount, better than Good Sam, typical Wyoming campground.
Now- Red Desert Rose Campground
Name changed- we liked this campground - stayed here going and coming back from California. Nice bathrooms, small but nice laundry, lots of places to walk the dogs. Very nice staff. Would stay here again.
Nice Enough
The park is close to the interstate and railroad tracks and it is noisy. The staff was extremely friendly and the bathrooms are immaculate. Sites are gravel and fairly level. We would stay here again if we were traveling through.
Wesites certainly are deceiving
This was one of two parks in Rawlins. I had a 50-50 chance of picking the best one. I picked the wrong one. First impressions were bad - junkie, sign in disrepair, cluttered office and just plain dirty. No WiFi working. The desk clerk stated they were "working on it." So I called the provider for a status. It had been out for weeks, with no resolution in sight. Sites were so close together you couldn't even put your awning out and it was HOT. Lots of working folks living there and many of the sites look like a junkyard. Obviously no one is encouraging residents to keep their sites looking tidy. Very noisy park, too. Traffic, parties, kids, music, just not a good park. STAY AWAY!
Your choices are not good.
Ok, so we are in the middle of July and there is a "Turn Around". A oil company has hired 3500 workers for this project. Went to the KOA and all they had was elec and water, no full hookup. Then we went to Western Hills campground and they were full. All three campgrounds are gravel. Here the showers are great and the people very friendly. The KOA is next to an apartment complex so when we went in, I turned around and went to the other two. Time to make lemonade!!!
Nothing but a parking lot to sleep in
On our cross country drive we stopped in Rawlins, WY. Made reservations at this place two days in advance. We pull in, all is well with check in. The first spot they put us in was WAY too short so they moved us to another spot. That one was fine for the length. The spots are all rock/gravel with absolutely no amenities. Spots were very narrow as well. But for an overnight stop it was bearable. Flies were terrible.
Great place
Very friendly staff, clean and well stocked store, convenient to everything, level site, WiFi was exceptional. Noise from trains and I-80 was not a problem, place was very quiet even though about half full. Stayed in a Class C motorhome. We'll be back.
Nice people. Level site.
Although in view of I-80, it was not too noisy and I am a light sleeper. The owners are very nice, the site was level and the WIFI was great. I would use again.
Stay up the road
While there is some grass here, the interior roads are very bumpy. Our RV rocked and rolled! It is even closer to the highway and the train than its neighbor. They are open 4/1 to 10/1; offer a 15% senior discount. Couldn't check out the bathrooms because they had a code lock. Decided not to stay because eveything seemed run down and we were concerned about the quality of the power.
