Lake camping

A slightly older park. Cable at each site, laundry, propane for sale, small store. A nice lake to camp on, but the RV park needs a little TLC
Enroute from San Diego to Monterey we stopped at a Passport America park - Lake Elisnore RV Park and Marina. We did some fishing but with no success. We also stayed here during the recent "Super Moon" and enjoyed the view of the moon over the lake.

Probably 90 minutes for LA.

Staff - Very helpful and friendly, shared donuts with us.

Several trees and on Lake Elisnore. We paid $26 a night for full hook-ups, back-in site with Passport America.

Bathrooms were older, showers did not all work. Sites Long enough, but not super wide. Right on lake with fishing, boating and swimming.

Cheapest place to stay in Anaheim?

Closely packed in sites, sort of like a parking lot, but close to park and decently priced. Pretty clean with average bathrooms and a swimming pool (not heated).

stay near Sea World

We found a decent Passport America campground in San Diego called Santa Fe RV Park. Not too shabby.

Nearby attractions - Very near San Diego sites like Sea World and Cabrillo and Legoland.

Natural surroundings - Lots of mature trees but Interstate 5 is quite close and a train track is not too far. didn't hear the train that often and it was quick.

We paid $32 a night for full hook-ups, back-in site. Nice bathrooms, keycard protected. Clean with nice showers, only three of them for men.

Roominess - Sardines, you have my sympathy. Heated swimming pool and hot tub. Game room where we had a family ping pong battle.

Cleanliness - A slightly older park.

Dump station, laundry, propane. Cable, BBQ and picnic table at each site. no camp store. A nice park if you just want a place to crash while seeing San Diego and a hot tub at night to unwind in!

Desert fun spot

We had a very positive experience at each of the parks and would recommend them both. Beautiful weather helped make them an enjoyable experience. First we look at Rio Bend RV Park and Golf Resort in El Centro, CA

Nearby attractions - At least 90 minutes from San Diego. Close to Mexicali, Mexico. Not a ton to do in El Centro. We were here fro the air show.

Pretty nice staff, even gave us an extra day on our Passport discount! Sites have a few trees, mountains in background. Lakes on site.

We paid $25 a night for full hook-ups, back-in site. Nice bathrooms, plenty of them with lockers. Clean with nice showers.

Nice big sites with a cement patio and room to park your toadie next to the RV. Big streets for kids to ride bikes and scooters too.

Heated swimming pool and hot tub. Golf course, volleyball court, shuffleboard on site. Exercise room is limited to adults.

A well-kept park. Dump station, laundry, propane. Cable, small camp store, exchange library. A nice park to hit in the winter or spring or fall. I am sure it is quite hot here in the summer.

Hot springs hot tubs

This is a review Sky Valley Resort in Desert Hot Springs, CA, near Palm Springs.

Close to Joshua Tree NP and Palm Springs. 90 minutes from Anaheim.
Very helpful and nice. This is a resort community with lots of park model homes. Lots of citrus trees and palm trees and lakes on site, but the place where the short-termers go is more sparse.

We paid $28 a night for full hook-ups, back-in site.

Nice bathrooms, showers are mineral water showers. Very long ways from where we were parked. Pretty tight spots

Heated swimming pool and hot tub that are fed by natural hot springs. Very small playground and basketball court. Decently kept up and many of the sites had fun decor and yard art.

Propane trucks deliver to site. Secured facility. Cafe, weekly church services at resort. Lots of activities geared toward the retired set. Weak wifi included.

We loved swimming each night in the warm mineral water!

San Diego vacation spot

We decided to try the other Passport America park in San Diego this time - Mission Bay RV Resort and we liked it a little bit better than Santa Fe.

Right on a bay in San Diego, they are super close to Sea World, Balboa Park, the zoo, etc.. Very helpful and friendly, although the security guys never cracked a smile! ;)

Park has a few trees and on the Anza Cove with lots of walking and bike trails nearby. We paid $28 a night for full hook-ups, back-in site with Passport America.

They were little older and some of the showers were cold and drippy, while others worked. Long enough, but not super wide. Had a hard time finding a place to park our van.

Near the beach where you can rent ski jets. Snack shack open for breakfast and lunch. We had their green snow cones for St. Patrick's Day.

A well-kept park. Cable at each site, laundry, not much else.
Overall - This RV Park feels more like one for vacationers than the Santa Fe RV Park that we also stayed in while visiting San Diego.

Newer park

We wanted to hit St. Joseph, Missouri to see the Pony Express Museum and the home where Jesse James was killed in. Unfortunately the Jesse James home was closed for the season, though their website never stated this! So we pulled into the AOK Campground later at night and did school in the morning and left, so it was a quick stay. This was a new campground and they look like they are making improvements so check back with them. Newer park, pretty well kept up.

Bathrooms - never saw them.

Brand new swimming pool which of course was closed and a small playground. Since this a new RV park they do not have much. No propane.

St. Joseph close by, Kansas City is an hour away. Only met the owner late at night. Nice guy, since they only take cash and we didn't have any, the guy said we could mail the fee to him!

Next to a pond with very few trees, close to Interstate 29. Most of the time this traffic noise puts me to sleep, but this time a couple of trucks woke me up.

Paid $20 for a night - off season rate. Another typical RV park in terms of roominess.

No showers or bathrooms

While traveling through Kansas we wanted an extra cheap place to plug in while visiting the Oz Museum. The OK Corral RV Park in Emmet, Kansas was a nice fit. While definitely not a destination park, please keep in mind this RV Park is still in the beginning stages as you read my review.

While it was a newer park, I did pick up a little bit of garbage around my site. No Bathrooms.

Bring your imagination and energy to run, because this park has no amenities. New park so they have nothing but full-hook-ups and small laundry facility.

Topeka and Manhattan both around an hour away. Oz Museum 15 minutes from here. Only met the owner. He was helpful and even helped us get hooked up! Not sure why, but never look a gift horse in ......

No trees in park, next to some fields and a factory of some sort looms up on the skyline about 5 miles away (no smell or noise from factory though). $10 for a night for two nights with Passport America card for full hook-ups. More room than the average RV park, plus there are some open fields with nothing on them right now, which made for some great exploration and relay races for our boys.

Pricey Park

Super close to beach and zoo and downtown Santa Barbara. Manager was nice to us, but talked bad about another camper who was having trouble pulling their RV in.

Natural surroundings - You are not in a commercial or residential area, but still not a feel of being in nature. Train and highway 101 close by.
We paid $60 a night for full hook-ups, back-in site. Cheap for Santa Barbara though.

Bathrooms we're clean and had hot showers. Automatic light sensors are near ceiling so you have to wave your towel in front of them to turn them on. Roominess - Very tight we thought, for what we paid. Nothing to do on site.

Cleanliness was average. Super cheap laundry facilities, wifi, cable included. Picnic table at each site.

Try finding a good place with full-hook-ups in Santa Barbara that doesn't cost a bunch!

Close to the National Park

Sequoia National Park is twenty minutes away and Visalia is 30 minutes.
Owner was very nice and helpful. Even gave us change back when dryer didn't work! also gave us tips on seeing Sequoia while they are working on the roads.

Lots of green, rock hills nearby. Plenty of shade trees and a meadow on site. We paid $37 a night for full hook-ups, pull-through site. Bathrooms we're less than OK, but not entirely gross

We were a bit crammed in, not much room for the van.

Pool which was closed and a small game room and clubhouse. Also a small playground frequented by biting red ants.

Cleanliness - Slightly less than normal for an older park. Laundry facilities, dump station, swapping library, wifi at clubhouse, small store. This was our Valentine's Day Destination!
